Chapter 1 “Evil Laughter” Normally the movie, ‘Evil Dead 2’, scared the hell out of her. But thankfully, Kyoko was so sleepy she could hardly even see the TV screen, and that was saying a lot since it was a 73-inch surround sound theater system. She blinked a couple of times then jerked awake, lifting her head up to glance at the digital clock on the front of the DVD player. Three in the morning! That last blink had been her downfall. When she heard Shinbe’s voice announce that she must be pregnant, her eyes quickly shot open and she pinned him with a death stare. “I…” she was immediately cut off when Toya pulled her into his arms and half crushed her against him. “Don’t do that! Chapter 4 “Officially Freaked Out” “Forget barbeque,” Suki exclaimed. “I’m going for deep fried.” Kotaro’s eyes went humorously wide when Suki lifted the flamethrower in his direction. She pulled the trigger and set the closest three ghouls aflame. All of the ghouls… even the ones the flames hadn’t reached yet, suddenly broke out in a chorus of inhuman screaming before they all burst into flames. Suki and Kotaro could only watch with confusion, as they all seemed to melt, leaving only partially intact skeletons behind. The basement was filled with loud clatter when the bones hit the ground. Chapter 5 “Hell Hags and Shadow Demons” Grandpa stood in the town square, scratching the top of his head as he played the scene in his mind for the fifth time in a row. Finally, he shook his head and shoved his hands in his pockets. He stared at the scorched areas where the harpies had been with a comical frown on his face. If Shinbe could do something like that… then why the hell hadn’t he done it in the first place? Heat slammed into his back and he looked over his shoulder toward the stage when he heard the sirens in the distance. He inwardly winced when he saw that his explosion had started a full-blown fire. Spotting a fire extinguisher that was propped up next to the sound system, he grabbed it and pulled the pin. She could feel the witch starting to drain her energy and she blinked against the blackness that began to form around the edges of her vision. She rammed an elbow into the hell hag’s stomach and only got a grunt for her efforts. “Fight all you want child,” the hag whispered. “You are mine.” The children around them stared in wonder at the woman fighting the mean lady. She was trying to help them and each one was very frightened. One brave little boy took off his shoe and threw it at the witch’s head. Chapter 7 “Peace and Fury” “What do you mean you can’t find my granddaughter?” Grandpa Hogo yelled into Toya’s ear, aiming for the computer wiz that was on the other side of the com-link.
