We had studied together in a college and knew each other well. He was shocked to see me as I came out of the chief’s office. I can read anyone’s expression and knew he was not happy.

He spoke to me for sometime and asked me about my health and went on to do his work. My husband was not in the bureau at the moment, as he was undercover with my brother, agent Logan Brown. They were a great team.

So I started walking out as I had nothing else to do but as I moved out I saw Jordan Brooke seated at his place and was busy going through some case files.

I was amazed and shocked that he was working as since the time I had joined the bureau, I had known that he was just a lazy duck who would take someone else’s credit and climb the ladder. He had confessed to me about his feelings when I was in college but I had not reciprocated his feeling because I was going steady with Richard . He had gotten drunk one night and caused a scene outside my apartment where I lived.

Richard had solved the mat
