Chapter 18

I woke up and realized it had grown dark outside and looked at the time it was six in the evening. I put my arm to touch him and felt the space next to me. I quickly got up and looked around. draping the sheet around me, I rushed down the hallway and looked for him. Empty. So was the bathroom. In a panic I went out and stopped outside the kitchen, a smile edging across my face.

I watched him as he pulled a Cup of coffee and then return to cracking eggs in a bowl, to which he then added some oregano. I stood there, the smell of onion reaching my nostrils. Hudson was fully dressed, his hair was stamped from the shower. As he returned to pull open the refrigerator door, he saw me.

I clutched the sheet a little tighter around me. As I had run in panic with nothing on and was feeling a little shy.
