Chapter Nine

Mine was listening to the news on the radio when he heard his mother screaming. He knew exactly what and who she was screaming at. She probably saw that Mivuma was there.

Before his mother caused some drama by shouting and insulting Mivuma Mine had to go fix the situation immediately.

"Mother, please!" He rushed to the front of the house where he could hear her shouting. She was standing in the doorway, Mivuma just inside, his head bowed, his expression one of distress. "Mother, stop."

He could not see what she was probably doing but she knew it wouldn't be great. " Mom leave our guest alone please. He still tired from his journey."

" Our guest?!" His mother shouted. " The one that hurt you. The one that caused you to be blind is a guest to you?!"

"You don't understand!" Mine struggled to keep his voice calm. "I don't blame Mivuma for what happened to me. I know it was an accident. He never meant to harm me. Please, can't you give him a chance?"
