Chapter 5

“What a beautiful place!” I exclaimed in amazement. The werewolf took me to a mini farm here in the mountains.

Trees of various kinds are planted on a small patch of land . Who would plant these trees in this remote place?

I went down from his back. After that he shifted into his human form. Oh my god! I accidentally saw his thing.

I shut my eyes close in frustration. I want to scold him, but I don’t know what I’m supposed to tell him – nevermind.

Just like what I did earlier, I gave him new clothes again. This time, I imagined some plain t-shirt and jeans to give him the look that he had wanted.

“Welcome to my farm!” He proudly said as he showed his farm with his arms wide open.

“You did all this?” I asked him doubtfully.

“Believe me or not, I’m the one who planted all these fruits and vegetables.”

“Why are you not in your pack?” I asked curiously. He sat on the grass and stared at his farm. His face looked so serene.

“I’m a rogue now. I was kicked off by the Beta’s son.” He answered like it was nothing. I sat beside him. Does it mean that he’s dangerous?

“Why did you do that?”

“That asshole was pestering my sister. He keeps insisting his love for her to the point that he almost kidnapped her. Well, my sister doesn’t like him.

“Why were you punished for that? That person should be the one in your position right now.”

He faced me. “How can I stand against his father? He is a high ranking official. While me? I’m just some muscular, handsome man who loves to plant fruits and vegetables and sell them to market.”

I laughed at what he said. He was seriously telling his past, but he was still able to present his pride.

He was right when he said that he is handsome and muscular. Nevertheless, we shouldn’t agree with him and his head might get bigger if we did.

“Since when have you turned rogue?”

“Just now. Ever since I haven’t gone rogue, I would sometimes visit this place where the normal people live. Then, I would go to the mountains, make my own farm in there just to provide food for the lost or the animals.

“How about your sister? Your parents?”

“I’ll be back soon, but for now I need to unwind. I’m going to stay here for now.”

“It would be too long before the full moon happens. Maybe you want to go with me at the city? You can stay at a hotel,” I offered. “So you can enjoy while you’re here,” I suggested.

From what I know, werewolves lose control of themselves during full moon. They couldn’t stop themselves from transforming into their wolves. So while that is far from happening, he can safely live with the place where humans live.

“I would love that. What’s your name, little witch?”

“Little? Seriously? You’re just tall that’s why I look short when I’m with you,” I told him gruffly. “I don’t want anyone pointing out my short height. I admit that I’m short, there’s no need to press it on my face. I hope everyone is blessed with tall height.”

“Okay then, big,” he laughed, taking back what he said.

I rolled my eyes at him. “And tall,” I added.

“Okay, okay,” he surrendered. He even raised both his hands in the air while laughing.

“Clara.”

“Nice name! I’m Vince,” he introduced himself.

I have prepared all the food I cooked for dinner on the table. I prepared quite a lot because Jennifer said that her boyfriend is going to eat with us. This would be the first time that she’s going to introduce me to her boyfriend.

“Sis, we’re here.” Later, I heard Jennifer yell from the living room. You can feel her enthusiasm based on her tone.

I didn’t welcome them in the living room. I waited for them to come in the kitchen. Cathy, my pet cat, might climb up the table and eat the food I prepared. She is currently sitting on my lap while looking expectantly at the food on the table. From time to time, he would try to take his chance and climb the table, but I would immediately stop him from doing so.

I looked up when I sensed their presence. “This is Akira, my boyfriend,” Jennifer introduced him to me, smiling.

Akira gave me a smile and bowed slightly as a sign of his respect. When our eyes met, it was as if time has stopped moving. I saw his blue blood from the window of his eyes. After that, memories of the past flowed within me.

My heart broke on every scene that I saw. My eyes teared up which confused them both.

Anger rose in my chest. My form changed and my body released a powerful force of wind, causing the objects around me to be thrown away.

Jennifer’s eyes widened as she stared at me, while Akira only had a hint of shock in his eyes. When I was about to take a step forward to Akira, Jennifer blocked my path and protected him. She is protecting the man that is one of the people who killed our parents.

With teary eyes, she sharply gazed upon me. “Who are you? Where is my sister? What did you do to her? Bring back my sister!” She yelled at me.

I stopped. I didn’t know what to say. What should I even tell her?

I looked behind her back – to Akira. He just stared at me. He was only three years old at that time. I know he was innocent, but I’m still angry at him. This is so frustrating and I couldn’t help it.

I shouted on the top of my lungs to vent the anger that I’m feeling towards Akira. I knelt in front of them. They just watched as I suffered from the pain I was feeling.

I lifted my head once again when I heard Jennifer sniff in tears. Akira hugged her to bring her comfort. I felt my sister’s fear that is pointed towards me. She couldn’t bring herself to stare at me, unlike Akira who is courageous enough to do so. He has long been exposed to this side of the world where people have their own unique abilities.

I let a few more minutes pass between us. I just cried and cried in front of them. Maybe they were thinking that I am a scary and crazy creature.

When I knew that I am ready to face Akira normally – for my sister – I used my powers to remove the whole scene from their memory. After that, I changed back to my normal physical

self.

“Why are you crying?” Akira asked Jennifer worriedly.

Jennifer touched her cheeks and felt the tears streaming down her face. I can remove my own tears, but I can’t remove hers. I gave them a forced smile even though I don’t feel well myself. It’s still so painful.

“Maybe something went in my eye. I don’t know,” Jennifer replied.

“You should eat. I’m sure both of you are hungry.,” I said, while trying my best to stop my voice from breaking. I think this is the hardest night I have ever had. I have to do this for my sister’s sake. I will have to talk to Akira like there was no bad water between us.

Akira is a friendly and cheerful young man. That’s why I no longer wonder why my ice cold tempered sister fell in love with him. I also found out that he also lives in the same subdivision as us.

I have never met him even once. But then, my life always revolves around the house, office and outside the country. The company I built has become successful and big. Every day, I have to be present in the business and manage it properly.

At first, I was trying to avoid having conversations with Akira during dinner. But because of his good character and cheerfulness, he was able to break into the wall I built to separate myself from him. That’s when I realized that I am starting to accept him. Little by little, my worries and hesitation faded away because of his charm and stories.

After our dinner, I let Jennifer take Akira out of the house. Even though I’m getting better,

I still need space from his presence.

When Jennifer came back, she excused herself saying that she’s going to sleep while I have decided to leave the house. I climbed up the roof of my car and stared at the sky.

I was disappointed to see the clouds blocking the sky. I was hoping to see stars; it helps me calm myself down.

After a while, I felt the soft hug of the wind. It seems to encourage me to look at the view of the tall building that I can see from here. It was the Star Hotel. Even though it’s far and I couldn’t see what’s on its rooftop, I could still feel Vince was there, watching me.

That’s where I let him stay. I spent quite a sum of money for him because he even chose the luxurious room they had. He wasn’t even alarmed at the money I spent for him. He doesn’t know the value of money in this worl.

Honestly, I don’t trust him yet, but I still treat him as a friend. Maybe it's because I feel comfortable around him. There will always be this person that even if you just met, you will just feel at home with them.
