Chapter 12: The Rival

Everything seemed so smooth for Clarissa’s career. It was as if the stars have aligned for her so she could have the best of the worlds she had chosen to pursue.

She was doing well with her studies. As promised to Mama Laura that despite venturing into a new career as a model, she never neglected school. She would still be part of the dean’s list every semester due to her diligence and determination to finish her degree.

Her Mama Laura was so proud of her and in one of their conversations; she expressed her gratitude to her daughter. When Clarissa had the opportunity to have a day off, her mother expressed how she felt.

“Issa, thank you for everything.” Laura was on the brink of tears. “You never disappointed me. I am glad you are doing well with your career and yet you are still giving your best at school to finish your degree.”
