Chapter 5:

Arista looked into the distance and saw a memory stone in front of the Bridge of Reminiscence. It was now encircled with ropes like an exhibit, preventing wandering spirits from drawing on it.

Before the Bridge of Reminiscence, there was a crowd of spirits gathered. When Arista approached, she realized that the Memory Guardian mentioned in the legends was nowhere to be found, and no demon enforcers were on guard. Without anyone to guard them, the spirits dared not go through the process of reincarnation and gradually formed a crowd in front of the bridge.

Strangely, where did all the demon enforcers go?

Arista followed the crooked signpost along the road and found her way to the Palace of the God of Death. She saw no demon enforcers along the way amidst the wandering spirits. Could the demon enforcers of the realm of the dead be tired of their jobs and decide to undergo reincarnation as a group?

As she murmured to herself, Arista arrived in front of the Palace of the God of Death.

The main door was tightly closed, with no one guarding it. Arista looked around hesitantly before gently pushing the door open. The creaking sound echoed as she poked her head in and was astonished by what she saw.

All the demon enforcers in the grand palace were kneeling, trembling, and crouching on the ground. In front of them, the Black and White Deities and the Judgment Officer were all unconscious. On the high seat, the frail God of Death was being trampled underfoot, and as predicted, the heart of the God of Death was... Alpha Levi's soul.

He casually tossed the Book of Destiny in his hand and said, "Which one is from the earlier time?" The demon enforcers, still kneeling, immediately trembled as they rushed to the back of the palace to fetch the books for him. The God of Death under his feet wailed, "Great Lord, please stop searching; you can't search anymore; everything is in chaos now..." Levi paid no attention to him, raised his head, and his gaze stopped on Arista's face.

Their eyes met, and Arista's heart thumped.

"You've come on your own." Levi smirked, "You've also spared me the trouble."

Alpha Levi spoke, and all the demon enforcers in the grand palace turned to look at her. Although Arista didn't know what he wanted to do, she felt something was amiss. She was about to run away, but the great demon lord on the seat suddenly stood up, used the momentum of stepping on the God of Death's back, and rushed towards Arista like an arrow released from a bow. Arista retreated repeatedly and closed the door, but she saw him pass straight through the door, piercing into her body. Arista felt her whole body tense up as if a great force was pushing her out of Alpha Levi's body, severing every inch of connection between her and this body, causing her pain and making her cry.

"You're useless now. Get out!" She heard Levi's voice echoing in her mind.

He wanted to take back his body! Arista realized. But if he reclaimed this body, she would become a wandering demon that didn't know where to go, dead for real!

She didn't want to undergo reincarnation; she couldn't abandon this body.

Arista held on to every vein she could feel, pushing Alpha Levi out with all her strength. "I can't die! If my master can't find me anymore, he will be heartbroken! I still need to meet my master!"

"No need to go anymore." Levi said, "Wait until I handle things here, and I will go to the Red Moon Pack to kill your master so you can meet him." Arista's blood boiled, and her emotions became even more agitated: "If you dare to touch my master, you'll have to deal with me!" She clung to the veins, not controlling Alpha Levi's body, lifting her foot and smashing her head against the door of the Palace of the God of Death. The force was so strong that it made the entire Underworld tremble. The mysterious door was smashed open, and Alpha Levi's head got stuck in the hole in the door, losing consciousness.

All the demon enforcers in the palace looked at the face of Levi stuck in the hole in the door, terrified. The grand palace became silent, and after a long time, a demon enforcer asked the God of Death, "Lord of Death, it seems that the great demon lord knocked himself unconscious. What should we do now?"
