Alastor appeared out of nowhere and choked me, so the witches were able to tie me up to the nearby post.

Anger surged through my whole body at the demon standing in front of me. “You have nothing to do with this, Alastor!” I yelled at him, and he just smirked wickedly at me.

“What are you doing here?” Agatha’s voice rang in the air.

“Saving you from this deadly witch,” Alastor answered her cockily.

His eyes were blazing red as he remained standing between me and Agatha and the female who told me she had the curse of the shield.

“I told you not to mess with this ritual.”

“I heard you, but I made things easier for you. Your spells were bouncing off her.” He laughed wickedly, and this annoyed Agatha.

“She was deflecting it. She obviously didn’t want to be here!” Agatha hissed.

My eyes squinted. I wanted to reason out that I didn’t do anything, but it seemed the two were not done lashing at each other.

“But you need her,” Alastor retorted before he turned to face me
