Chapter Twenty

Luka’s POV

There was something about her that just seemed to irritate the hell out of me, she always found a way to put me in a bad mad mood - and it wasn't just my own temperamental nature. It was like I had lost all semblance of control over the world around me, as though some kind of cosmic entity had taken it upon itself to make fun of me for no reason other than how annoyed it made me.

My eyes flicked up from the book in front of me to glare at the small window next to me, where there were two birds perched on a branch outside looking as if they were ready to take flight at any moment.

The moon was shining brightly overhead, but the sky appeared cloudless. And not just that - when I looked down at the book I could see it glowing dimly with some kind of weird glow.
