Alpha Farrell’s POV

“Alpha Farrell.”

I turned to see the signature dark green eyes of the Evergreen pack alpha staring at me. He stretched his hand for a handshake, withdrawing it when I refused to let my hands out of my pockets.

“I understand your distrust for all of us here,” he said as he dropped his hands by his side, placing his left hand into his pocket and tugging it around like a child would do when he had something special to him inside it. “It’s very possible that one or two heads could roll down the ground and we lose a Luna or two or maybe a beta in the mix. It has been the way our people existed.”

“I did not think I need a lecture on how our people operated when you walked up to me,” I said as I stood, turning to look at Gabriella, who looked lost as she stood, watching the hall in admiration.

“We could take some of the refreshment our host offered us as we get to know each other,” he said as he called a waiter, taking a glass of wine from the tray.
