Immediately I ran off in the direction Mila went. I still remembered her scent, so I followed it to what looked like an old study.

She was standing by the window looking at the night sky.

I took a breath before I called out to her, "Mila," I know she heard me but refused to look at me. I walked closer to her till I was only inches away. "Mila, come on."

"Go away, Eli." She said I hated that nickname, but it sounded so good coming from her.

"Listen, Mila," I started, then sighed, Let's talk."

"The time for talking is over Eli, You should have told me from the start that you were mated." She said as she turned to me. There was a look of disappointment on her face mixed with sadness.

"I should have told you, but I didn't think it mattered," I said honestly, and she gave me a questioning look.
