Evelyn was terrified as she sat like a stiff statue beside the guy whose name she didn't know. Rick was driving the car and Maxwell was in the passenger's seat.

Evelyn kept looking out of the window to keep track of where they were taking her but she was never good with the routes.

"Rory, do it," Maxwell muttered.

She let out a loud gasp when abruptly something covered her eyes rather roughly and then she felt the tight knot at the back of her head.

She raised her hands to remove the blindfold when Rory grabbed her hand in a rough grip and tugged it down.

"Stay still, if you don't want me to tie you up," He said coldly and tears leaked out of her closed eyes. One of her eyes was not even properly closed and the blindfold was too tight, almost digging into her eyes.

She clutched her hands in a fist and sat there silently. She didn't know for how long they kept on driving but it was too far away from wherever they were taking her and she couldn't even hear any noise from the other cars. It was like they were alone on the road which was a bit bumpy and rough.

The car came to a screeching halt and her heart started to pound rapidly in fear of what was to come.

They got out of the car, she could hear it, and then her door was pulled open and she was yanked out rather roughly.

She didn't even balance herself properly when they started dragging her.

She let out a low yelp when her bare foot hit the stairs and she stifled a wince of pain. If not for that tight hold on her arm she would've fallen face first and hurt herself.

"Slow down. I...I.. can't see," She whispered but they didn't stop and she kept on stumbling at everything that came her way.

Her toes were aching. She could feel the cool sensation of the cemented floor but there was dirt too.

"W...where are you taking me?" She asked, scared when she heard the door creak open making that terrifying sound.

She was afraid. She didn't even know if they brought her to Joshua or if they just tricked her and now they would kill her after having their way with her.

She was a pessimist and the situation didn't help either as worst-case scenarios raked her mind and the fear in her veins intensified tenfold.

All of a sudden they came to a halt. She gasped when; whom she presumed was Rory, grabbed her nape and pushed her down on her knees. She clenched her teeth feeling the pain that shot through her knees.

"She's his sister, boss." She heard Maxwell's voice and then a chill ran down her spine when she felt a sharp sensation pricking her skin.

Someone was looking at her. She could feel the cold atmosphere as she shivered. Not knowing if it was because of the weather or the fear.

"N...No... W...why h..her?" Her heart stopped beating for a fraction of a second when she heard Joshua's cracked voice.

She abruptly yanked the blindfold off her eyes and blinked rapidly as her blurred vision cleared slightly and her eyes fell on the man who was on the floor a few feet away from her.

She forgot breathing as something clutched her heart in a vice grip. Joshua was laying on the floor with blood all over him.

"JOSH!" She screamed and tried to run over to him when Rory grabbed her arm.

She didn't even stop and in her hysteria, she slapped him right across his cheek with all her might. He was taken so off guard and was too stunned to comprehend when she got out of his grip and dashed to Joshua who was laying on the floor.

She fell to her knees beside him as she gently held his head and placed it on her thigh. One of his eyes was so blue and swollen that his eye wasn't even visible.

Ugly bruises littered all over his body and face and blood oozed out of his forehead and the corner of his mouth.

"Oh my God! Josh. Josh," She cried out as he was barely even breathing.

"Please, Josh. What happened to you?" She didn't even know what she was saying as tears kept pouring out of her eyes.

She was a trembling mess. She cupped his face gently in her quivering hand. Her heart was bleeding.

"No, Josh. P...please, don't leave me. W..who did this?" She sobbed, wiping the blood from his chin with her sleeve.

He slowly peeled open one of his eyes that wasn't swollen. "R....run..." He wheezed the word out in a low croak and she shook her head.

How could she leave him like this? Who did this to her brother? Why? Why did they hurt him like this? Her brother has never hurt a soul in his life then why did they hurt him like this?

"G...go...." Josh croaked out but she only shook her head.

Someone grabbed her arm in a brutal hold and she was yanked to her feet. She stumbled and collided with a hard chest only to flinch back in fear but the man jerked her closer to him and her eyes collided with those familiar stormy eyes which looked lethal as he glared down at her.

"He's your brother?" His deep voice was a booming growl as he snarled at her face.

She shrank back, closing her eyes shut, trying her best to proceed with what was happening but nothing made sense to her.

"W....what? Axel, y..you-"

"Is he your brother?" His deep voice was low like an ominous sneer. His hold on her arm tightened to such a painful extent that she started thrashing trying to free her arm. She was sure he would crush her bone.

He didn’t sound like the man she knew.

"Yes! Yes! STOP! You're hurting me!" She cried out and his hold loosened enough for her to gather back her senses.

He pushed her away and then let out a loud booming laughter.

It was so sinister and vicious that a chill of terror ran down her spine.
