Chapter 2:

When I woke up, I was in prison; there was no one around, but I knew I couldn't escape because this prison uses the most modern equipment; wanting to break it is one thing impossible for a technologically blind person like me.

"Is anyone there? Release me!" I yelled and wanted to get someone's attention, but all I got in response was goosebumps of silence.

At this moment, I realized it was dark outside; the werewolves had probably already returned home. Meaning this place is only me; it's an excellent opportunity.

'If you think about running away, you'll die tonight.' Someone's cold voice suddenly appeared in my head, freezing all my actions.

It was Elmer's voice, strangely enough. Shouldn't he have lost his mind and gone mad at this hour? Could he be a particular werewolf like me? But that is absurd; if Elmer had that ability, he would have researched himself to find a cure. He may be a brutal man, but he loves and is loyal to his pack; Elmer can do anything, even give his life for his people; that's all the rumors I hear from this man.

'Are you okay?' I heard Elmer gasp as he finished speaking, like he was in pain from something terrible but was trying to hold it back.

'It's none of your business,' Elmer replied with difficulty, then fell silent.

I furrowed my brows in disbelief; it was a crazy thought. 'Can Elmer restrain himself from going crazy? Is he against it?'

All my speculations stopped at dawn.

A group of doctors in white blouses appeared in front of me, taking notes, led among them was a young man about 20 years old; on his left chest was engraved a nameplate: Elias.

"Take her with me!" Elias ordered the group of people behind him; from beginning to end, he did not look at me; the whole time was only interested in taking notes on his iPad.

I panicked and resisted vehemently. "Stay away! What do you want to do to me?"

In the science movies I watch, exceptional people are often subjected to cruel research surgery. Won't they tear me apart to find something mysterious? Thinking about that gave me goosebumps; my vitality became more vigorous; I frantically struggled and threw away the two doctors holding my hand.

Elias frowned at my madness, he warned. "If you don't cooperate, we must take strong measures."

As soon as he finished speaking, a series of whips fell on me, my skin tensing as if it was about to crack. The rush of pain made my eyes water, but I tried not to cry and stared at Elias with all my hatred. "You are evil; you will not live in peace! All of you will die incompletely."

Elias scratched his ear dejectedly and gave an order. "Catch her, don't let her mess up."

This time I couldn't do anything with four men holding me back, a specially made handcuff tied my hands, and I couldn't transform into a wolf as long as it was on me.

Along the way, I tried to memorize the terrain to find a chance to escape, but I realized this place was like a giant maze; my memorization was utterly useless.

I was tied to a table by Elias, then injected some drug into me with a look of amusement. "How amazing; I was looking forward to experimenting with a special creature like you."

Fear enveloped me as they were trying to pin me full of strangely shaped strings. Did they really see me as an emotionless beast?

"You want to kill me?" I struggled with all my might, but my limbs were tied, and I couldn't move.

Elias clicked his tongue and shook his head. "Of course not; until I find a cure, I won't let you die."

I frowned, sure I couldn't trust someone as dangerous as Elias, significantly above him, who was as sinister as Elmer.

"Dammit! You took much blood from me; you said you don't kill me; now I'm dying!" I screamed as I saw my blood being drawn repeatedly, my mind getting dizzy and confused.

My protest startled Elias; he shook the blood tube and said regretfully. "You don't say make me forget, can't draw more than this amount of blood."

I looked at Elias angrily; I wished I could get out and punch him in the face and then run away. If I hadn't reminded him, he'd been so engrossed in taking my blood that he'd have left me a dried corpse on the operating table.

"It's getting dark, so the day ends here." Elias did not hide his regret; he ordered someone to untie me.

My limbs were so weak that they felt about to leave my body; I couldn't stand and almost fell to the ground. Luckily someone reached out and caught me in time; I looked up and met Elmer's expressionless face.

His cold gaze brought me back to my senses immediately. I pushed him away and pretended I was okay.

"How was the result today?" Elmer wasn't angry by my actions; he was just interested in how the experiment went.

Elias was depressed and silent. "Alpha, tomorrow I will try harder. Didn't get anything special today."

Elmer pondered for a moment, then waved his hand in command. "Bring her in to rest; prepare some blood tonics for her."

I glanced at him without emotion. They drained almost all of the blood from my body, and now they are very concerned about my health as if they were very gracious to me.

"What's not to like?" Elmer raised an eyebrow dangerously.

I lowered my eyes and shook my head, displeased; I had never had to endure anything before my father died. Even though it's only a small pack, the people in it love me very much, so I'm used to being pampered by others. But I know the situation is dire, my father is dead, and now, if I try to oppose Elmer, death will come to me faster.

I need to control my emotions now, not letting him see my displeasure.

"It's almost time, don't be late!" Elias hurried as the clock approached seven o'clock.

My heart also beat faster, and my legs unconsciously accelerated to keep up with their speed; if they went crazy here now, I would die. I'm powerless to resist, and they hold back my strength; how do I fight?
