"Where is Mira?" Axel asked one of his guards. She had not shown up for dinner and he had been waiting for her to show up since then.

"One of her sisters had visited her." The guard replied. "And then all of a sudden, they disappeared in a hurry."

Axel closed his eyes and massaged his temples in irritation. It had to be that stupid witch, Maria's doing. She was forever trying to talk Mira out of helping him.

"And you did not find it necessary to inform me?" His voice was deadly, sending shivers down the guard's spine. Then again, when did he not have a deadly voice?

"She said she would be back before dawn." The poor guard trembled. "She said she just needed to help her sister with something, and there was no need to tell anyone."

Axel rolled his eyes. When did the witch ever find it necessary to let anyone know about anything? She was always doing as she pleased. It was the most annoying thing in the world.
