Emily's POV

I dropped the novel in my hand and squealed in excitement. I didn't know why but I always loved happy endings.

Cuddling myself on my bed and replaying some of the major events in the book, I slowly began to see some similarities between myself and the female lead character.

Although she was from a poor background and was a hundred times more hardworking than I, we had some things in common— firstly, she had a friend who was from a rich background and got all the attention —just like Janet—Secondly, her parents were controlling and overprotective, deciding what she'd become, who she'd end up marrying, what kind of clothes she'd wear—just like my parents.
