And here I thought college would be fun to attend again. Wendy is barely home. I only knew her for almost a month and now I feel so incomplete without her. It must be her annoying traits that make me feel complete. That has to be it.
Veronica stays to entertain me from time to time. She said everything in this house is ‘technically’ mine until I move out. Although I don’t believe her, she tends to talk about her kids and how Wendy lets them do anything here. That’s because Wendy is biased and doesn’t care if I’m bored or not.
“You look like a sad puppy waiting for its owner. The last time I checked, Wendy gave you a phone. A brand new phone,” Veronica says.
“The last time I checked, she bought it to keep me social. She didn’t tell me the password!” I yell out.
Quick week break!
Wendy takes a deep breath. “I know you guys hate each other, I can see it in your eyes, but try to get along. I can’t let my bestie and Lucas glare at each other all the time.” “I don’t hate him. I just don’t want to talk to him,” I say trying to sound unbothered, but failed. I knew this talk would happen but I didn’t want to endure it. I’m not a rude person, but Lucas sends out kidnapper vibes. “At least try to have a conversation with him every time you see him. He’s not that bad,” She looks at him but quickly looks at me. “Just bad enough.” “I’m not bad. I did nothing to you,” Lucas blurts out. Wendy glares at him. She hates when people talk back, especially people who disagree with her every word. “Zip it, eyebrows. I didn’t call you over here to complain.”
Easy, calm, suspicious. The past week has been confusing. Amber was cheerful 7 days a week which is concerning because she never does that. She’s planning something. She hasn’t bought anything suspicious in my house, unless it’s under her clothes! She’s not that weird, she has sanity.I can’t say the same thing about Lucas. I can see he’s confused with this new side of her. He only knew her for so little, what should he suspect?“Amber, darling, what are you planning?” I say in a cheerful tone.Amber flimches and slama the bathroom door shut. And she dares to asks why I call her weird. “Doing a number 2. Although I thought I would be doing number 10.” I try to open the door from her grip but she keeps
Another day in San Diego, another day going to the park, just like every other day. I couldn’t help but wonder why people would destroy such beauty. Nature is the only thing stopping us from world destruction. Without nature, we would all die from global warming. It’s like if I hid Beyoncé away from the world, everything would go out of place. After completing my thoughts, I checked my surroundings, seeing that I was already at the park. It was empty, as usual. I only see people walking their dogs or exercising here once in a while, but it’s always the same people. You see the same faces almost every week.
10 minutes ago I had no clue where she was taking me, but to be honest, I wasn’t focusing on that. I was focused on our hands...Touching. Luckily she didn’t turn around to see me blush. I never really touched a girl since I kept on avoiding them my whole life. I had to concentrate on my studies and my job, which didn’t end well.My dad would always ask for money for his own goods. I couldn’t fight back since he would always teach me a “lesson” if I didn’t listen. It was the same routine over and over. Wake up, go to school, go to work, then go back to sleep. I got kicked out of college for bad grades and fired because of zoning out too much.My dad forced me into an arranged marriage since the family was rich and th
Lucas was a chill guy. I didn’t suspect us to get this along, I thought there would be a few awkward moments. I wanted to ask him why his dad ditched him but then that would be too personal. My phone started to ring. When I checked it, my best friend, Amber, was calling me. I answer and ask, “ What do you need?”She replies, “I just wanted to know if you wanted to go shopping tomorrow if you’re not busy.“I let out a sigh, “Sure, anything for you.” I hear a screech on the other side of the phone.”Thank you, We
I slowly open my eyes. “Day 2 of having a roommate. How exciting.”The sun was already in the blue sky. I check around my room, forgetting what I was supposed to do. I get up and drag myself to the bathroom.Today, a quick walk, shopping with Amber, and something. What was that something again? I walk downstairs, heading to my brother’s old room. I grab the nearest clothes and walk back up.I walk towards a closed door, knocking before entering. No response, he must be sleeping still. I walk in quietly and place it on the closest surface. I check the bed, it was neatly done. Where’s Lucas? Oh crap...I run out of the room yelling out his name. Unfortunately, I couldn’t hear any response. I dash to the kitchen then the
I don’t get Wendy. She has all this stuff and yet she says her life is boring. I mean, with all this stuff I would be living in heaven. Wendy is kind-hearted but sometimes she’s a bit weird. From the moment I met her to now.She went from a girl chasing after me to a girl who invited me to live with her. I see no goal in how this is helping her. Having an extra person, maybe even a stranger, in your house doesn’t give people much joy. There’s definitely wrong with her the more I think about it. This is why I will never understand girls. All girls do is for their benefits, well some not all.Like, if I take my mom as an example. My mom, I guess, wanted a happy life. I mean if I think about it, she wasn’t happy with my dad. She would be working half the day and spend the res
We arrived at the parking lot. As suspected, it was packed.“Can’t we go to a super-rich mall? It’s less packed than here.”“Shush. Expensive stuff sucks. They just look nice. I can go to Dollar Tree and shop there for the good stuff.” She says back. She successfully found a parking spot. “Come come. We’re probably late.”We enter the mall to see if Amber was already there. Wendy was texting her to see if she was here or not. In a blink of an eye, Wendy yells,” Amber!” Wendy runs to, a so-called, Amber with open arms.I glance at Amber, shocked to see her with a white blouse and a gray skirt. Her chestnut
