53. Frey — Run 3

I recalled the flashes of what happened last night and the new level of magic I had manifested to protect myself. My eyes fluttered open, and I glimpsed the clump of trees ahead of me. I welcomed the morning sunlight and the wonder of nature that was in front of me. Great, I was in a car in an unknown place. I saw Shannon standing in front of the vehicle I had spent the night in, and I unhooked my seatbelt and climbed down from the car, heading toward her.

“How did you find me?”

“It wasn't difficult. Logan told me you were in danger, so all I had to do was follow your magic signature.” She answered. Not sure if we were both excited to see each other.

She pulled her hair into a bun and marched back to the car. I followed her instantly, dragging my weak knees along with me. I still felt the soreness on my feet from racing through the woods last night.

“Let’s find Adelyn and the kids.” I proposed.

“They’re safe at home.”

“What do you mean? You didn't see what happened last nigh
