"Wasn't it more appropriate for us to talk in the car, or we could have done it in your office?

He doesn't respond. I'm surprised when his hand touches my lower back and pushes me into the restaurant.

That's what he did; he brought me to a restaurant to discuss the pending matter. Again, we're exposing this fictitious relationship, or whatever it can be called.

I know I shouldn't worry because I don't usually come to these types of places to have dinner, so I don't run the risk of running into someone I know, but he does.

What if we bump into an acquaintance, or worse, one of his friends? I don't even want to imagine it.

"Your list already arrived in my email inbox," he speaks after we sit at the table he reserved. "I read it a little, and I didn't see many things that include your daily life."

"That's because there aren't many," I assure him.

"How?" His eyes fixate on me. "Don't you have a life outside of work?" he asks, surprised.
