Stanley stared at Lana in surprise. She was now crying and trying so hard to control her emotions.

He pulled over by the side of the road, took out a handkerchief from his pocket, and gave it to her.

Lana took it from him and muffled a "thank you, sir," before using it to wipe her eyes.

"It's okay Lana, don't cry anymore. I can assure you that you are safe now and you can stay in my house and work as a maid until when you are ready to leave.

Take note, I don't like liars and I don't like thieves. I also don't like being disobeyed. You can take me as your guardian and I will treat you well. I will protect you and keep you safe while you are under my roof.

I will take the risk of trusting you Lana and someday you can go to school if you wish to. I hope you do not break my trust and make me regret ever helping you"
