Chapter 17

Collin stood outside Cassie’s house, the weight of her words heavy on his heart. He knew she was right. He should have done more to support Via and to understand what she was going through. But now, all he could think about was finding his sister and making things right.

Taking a deep breath, he knocked on Cassie’s door once again, hoping she would forgive him for his past mistakes. After a moment, Cassie opened the door, her expression softened but still guarded.

“Cassie, please,” Collin pleaded, his voice laced with urgency. “I need your help to find Via. I can’t let her go off on her own like this. She’s my sister, and I need to make sure she’s safe.”

“I told you, I won’t tell you anything. Go and worry about Via for all I care.” Cassie’s tone was stern. “Now leave before I call for the guards.”

Collin sighed in surrender. His steps were heavy as he walked towards his car. If Cassie would not cooperate, how would he know Via’s whereabouts?
