Class

I turned around, coming face to face with Angela. Angela and I don't exactly see eye to eye. She has been my arch-nemesis since the beginning of the school year.

“And what if I'm staying with a man? Are you able to deny that you aren't being sponsored by your sugar daddy?” I asked sarcastically, a mocking look on my face.

It has been a known fact for a month now that Angela had a sugar daddy. I heard the news but I didn't pay much attention to it because it was none of my business, but her getting into my matters was something I just couldn't take.

“You really are shameless,” someone laughed dryly, shaking their head at me.

Beside Angela, her best friend sat. Both of them looked ready to banter with me for the rest of the day but I didn't have the time for that.

I couldn't just exchange words with them like ai had nothing to do.

“You guys stop it. The man she is staying with is her fiance. Even though they slept together the night before, there really isn't anything wrong with that,” Eileen butts in, her voice sounding innocent. She tried her best to sound naive and I would give her a seven out of ten for her acting skills.

I couldn't help but notice the sentence she had used. She had just hinted that I slept with Killian while sounding as if she was taking my side.

It didn't matter in what context she meant that sentence, everyone would take it how ever they wanted to. And I didn't care.

“And so if I slept with him? Weren't you sleeping with Gabriel while we were still dating?” I asked sharply and her eyes widened.

Eileen had a way of acting innocent when she needed to, making you believe that she wouldn't be able to do anything wrong.

“What are you saying, sister? Why would I do such a thing? I really didn't do it.” She panicked and I rolled my eyes, turning away.

I was getting tired of the same replies from her all the time. I wanted her to do something more original instead of playing the role of the white lotus, but it seemed that was too hard to ask for.

“Eileen you're such a good sister. Even though she constantly humiliates you and hurts you, you still take her side no matter what,” Angela said and I did my best to ignore them.

I really didn't care about what the rest of the school thought about me so I didn't bother clearing the rumors. If they wanted to believe whatever Eileen said, then so be it.

For the rest of my classes, I could feel stares following me wherever I went.

Everyone seemed to watch me with judgemental stares, talking amongst themselves.

Bunch of hypocrites.

I spat out, heading out of my last class.

I was happy that I was done with classes. Studying Business Management was really tiring.

“Hey, Ruelle. Want to spend a night with me? I promise to treat you well,” someone said from behind me and I stopped in my tracks, letting out a breath.

In every class, there would always be that one person who thought he ruled the world because his parents were rich and could do whatever he wanted. And it pissed me off.

I turned around walking towards Anslem, the guy who had just spoken.

“Say that again,” I dared, slamming my palm on the desk in front of him.

He flinched a bit when my palm made contact with his table before he forced a burst of laughter. His friends were around him and he couldn't embarrass himself in front of them p

“Do you know who I am?” He forced out, trying to hide his fear.

I wasn't one to get physical, but I wouldn't hesitate if I needed to

“I said.. say what you just said once more,” each word was said slowly, a dare to him.

His friends were behind him, cheering him on to speak.

Using their cheer as a boost to his morale, he smirked at me repeating his words.

“Unfortunately, I'm not attracted to trash,” I replied immediately.

“Your mother couldn't even keep her husband, who is the trash? You should be happy I'm even interested in you,”

The moment he completed his words, his face met his table with a loud bang.

The entire class went silent as Anslem raised his head, trying to stop his bleeding nose.

“You! I would end you, just wait and see!” He threatened but I snapped my fingers in front of him to shut him up.

“Mention my mother once more, and that would be the end of you,” I threatened, meaning it.

We were in college and they were still acting like kids.

“I'm sorry about my sister, she didn't mean to hurt you. Ruelle, hurry up and apologize to him,” Eileen immediately butted in, ‘pleading’ on my behalf. She held my hand as she pulled me closer to herself.

“You know that they are an important business partner, so I suggest you apologize or Father will get really angry,” Her tone immediately changed and she whispered harshly to me.

This was the first time that Ruelle was showing her true colors and I laughed out loud.

“Why are you even here? Shouldn't you be taking your classes too? Or do you think you can steal this major from me too?” Sneering at her, I pushed her away from me. Without any other word said, I walked out of the classroom.

Opening my phone, there was a text from the driver asking where I was and telling me that Killian was searching for me.

I wasn't even married yet and he's already acting this way, what would happen when we get married?

I just needed to get my freedom away from these people and then take my brother's custody from them too.

That was the only reason I agreed to this marriage.
