"Daddy!", the little girl who was sticking close to her mommy meekly came to life as she ran towards the man.
"Ruby", the man cried with a voice full of affection as he hugged the little girl tightly in his arm. He checked to see if everything was fine or not. "Ruby, are you hurt? Did anyone do anything to you?" The man was flustered and once again kissed the little head in front of him.
"Honey", a silky smooth voice called him drawing his attention from his daughter to the woman who was standing in front of him. She was a fair and simple lady. He hurriedly went to her and hugged her tightly. "You okay? What are you two doing here?"
Thousand thoughts were running in his mind as he resumed his action of hugging the two of his beloved people. 'He might be thinking to kill me before them giving them more mental torture or this devil might be thinking about ruining the life of these two people who were the apple of his eyes.' He tried to think positive that he might have brought them to threaten him to spill out the beans about his boss. Although he was loyal to his boss it didn't mean a shit in front of his family. He was willing to anything now as long as the two people in his arms were safe and well.
"Honey, we are fine. Nobody treated us badly but we are also confused why we were invited to such a big mansion. They said something about you being sick….but you look fine… only a little worn out." The wife asked with concern as she noticed his pale lips and the heavy bags under his red shot eyes. Although she didn't know what the situation was she could tell something was wrong. Listening to his wife he felt relieved realizing his line of work was still unknown to her. She would have to know it sooner or later but he wanted to be the one who will tell her after she was ready to accept it.
Rena looked at the man who looked so high and mighty even as he sat there expressionless. Rena was a smart woman. She knew her husband wasn't a normal security guard but whenever she tried to pry further into his profession her husband used to change subject and pretend as if he didn't listen to it. Looking at the present scenario he must have done something wrong but what? Countless thought ran across her mind as an unknown fear crept into her heart.
Looking at this family reunion the three men sat in silence. When around five minutes had passed a cold voice spread throughout the room. "Since it looks like all of us are here shall we talk about business?" "You know what I want from you, don't you?" He stared straight into the eyes of the pale man. The man felt that he wasn't asking question but rather he had already decided everything and was just passing down his decree.
The man fell down on his knees as he spoke trembling. "I am ready to offer anything in exchange for your mercy to my family." Rena didn't know anything but she also copied the action of her husband. "Whatever he has done to offend you I beg you to let me also pay for his crime."
Looking at the scene which looked identical to a historical setup Chris couldn't help but sigh deeply as he knew they had misunderstood his brother. The problem was also with his brother who was really a man of few words.
He could only understand him as he had been with him for the longest period of time. When he turned to look at specimen of a human kind that is his brother another heavy sigh left his mouth before he could even realize. The man was expressionless as ever but his eyes couldn't betray the confusion brewing inside him.
He had always been an observant man so he had felt like he had seen the man somewhere before. When he was studying crime and psychology as an additional course in university he had gained accessed to some of the cases and he had been interested in this particular case which seemed to have been modified and changed to match the interest of certain individual and party.
Although it was old he dug up all the events surrounding it. He wanted to know the truth tho it didn't meant a thing for the convicted person now. He had been successful in finding all the facts surrounding this case.
Some words from author to the readers:

Named Isaac and aged 40 at present, before he had been an honest worker, a security guard at a well-known company full of duty and righteousness. Despite being at a young age he was dedicated to his work but at the age of 25 he was charged with various offences and crimes. What more a lawsuit was charged against him for selling and spreading the private and classified information of the company to the competitors by the higher ups of the company. One day when he was patrolling the parking lot, he heard the scream of the woman coming from one of the car. He rushed there immediately only to find a lifeless body being thrown out form the car. A young man around same age as him at that time sat inside panting heavily with sweats covering his forehead. Looking at the torn clothes on the alm
"Hello Mr. Isaac. I'm Franklin Loom, your lawyer for the hearing." Isaac sat in a chair separated by a glass partition from the man in a black coat wearing a dark framed glasses. "Hello, thank you so much for taking my case." Isaac sincerely thanked the lawyer."Enough with these pleasantries, let's get to the main point immediately." Franklin looked impatient and irritated for some reasons. 'Oh, seems like even my lawyer is not willing to fight for me.' Isaac was grim and even his last shred of hope was snugged out. He gave up. He directly told the lawyer, "What do they want from me? What should I do? Hmm?""Looks like you are not as stupid as you look", the lawyer finally showed a smirk. "So you plead guilty in the court tomorrow and that way everyone can have a happy ending." The lawyer leaned back on his chair as he said this.Unlike how the lawyer had first entered all gloomy and irritated when he left the meeting room he was in a good mood. He was th
The couple entered the room after sorting out everything between them. "Mummy, daddy", Ruby ran towards them smiling showing her brilliant smile. After looking at his wife and daughter Isaac didn't want to die and leave his precious treasure behind all alone in this world. He was ready to die for the boss who took him in when he had nothing. 'I m allowed to be selfish once in a while can't I?' Isaac thought as his desire to be with his family grew stronger.Isaac directly went in front of the man and said, "I don't want to die yet. I have things I need to take care of and things I need to see through till the last of my capability." This time Isaac didn't have the pathetic begging attitude but he seemed determined and eyes were full of light completely different from the man of last night who was psychotic. Letting him cool spend a night in oblivion was the best decision. Kim and Chris both gave thumbs up to their boss in their heart.Chris did all the talking for his
One month passed in a blink of an eye and it was time for graduation. Normally parents were the one who came with the students to get their certificate. Elaine was enthusiastic for the graduation even more than others for she was accepted in the university she wanted. Although she didn't get the hostel her tuition and training was free. She had a very important goal to achieve and it could be only fulfilled if she enrolled in that particular university."Central Military School" was the top most university in the country that produced the best soldiers and civil workers in the country. Because of this even the government gave a huge priority to this institution and provided scholarship to top and worthy students. "Congratulations Elaine. All the best for your future." She was congratulated by her peers and teachers and she thanked them whole heartedly. The one month she spent opening up herself to her students had left her many memories. She was going to miss them but t
The day had finally arrived. It was time for Elaine to say goodbye to the small village. It was not like she was going away forever but she still had an attachment towards the place where she had grown up and lived with her parents. She also had the memory of her first love or maybe it was appropriate to call him her crush since he went away before she could express her feelings. If fate was willing then she might just bump into him in the streets. This place was filled with bittersweet memories. Elaine smiled as she went over every event. She stopped a few step away from the house and turned back one last time to look at it. "I am off Mom and Dad. I will be back. Take care of house for me." "Grandpa, Grandma." Elaine waved at the two elderly couple who were waiting for at the bus stop. "This girl is also leaving us." Mrs. Ron was only trying hard holding back her tears but her old feeble hand couldn't help but tremble as she patted her head. "
He had to look at her twice to make sure he was not hallucinating but he didn't want to be found by her if she was really Elaine. The girl hesitatingly looked behind her eyes showing the strong desire to see something."It really is you." The man didn't know whether to be happy or distressed that he saw her here. The last time he had seen her she was still a childish young girl always following him and pulling the cuffs of his school shirt which was as white as clouds on a sunny day. Even when he scolded her she used to smile like an idiot without any care.He always knew that girl had some feelings for him but he had ignored it thinking it as a child's obsession."I finally found you." His inner thoughts came to sudden halt when he heard the calm voice behind him. He didn't have to turn around to know who it was. The voice was more mature than before and he could hear the stiffness in her voice as she suppressed her words and tears down her throat.
Elaine finally came back to her senses when her body hit the soft bed.“I actually agreed to come to his house.” Elaine imagined beating herself up for being such a dork and spacing out.She finally glanced around the room. It was neat and tidy with just the right amount of furniture and decorations. She glanced at the willows painting on the wall. It brought back the memory from her past.Elaine had a small argument with her mom so she ran away from home to spend some time alone in her secret hideout but it was occupied by somebody else. She was angry as indicated by her red chubby cheeks. She silently approached the sleeping boy.“He is so handsome.” Elaine gasped as she looked at his face. She extended her small hands to touch his high nose and giggled when he frowned.“Even good looking when frowning.” Elaine was giving points in her heart. She was caught in surprise as the boy opened his eyes staring s
"This chapter contains mature content."“Sophie, Why are you here?” Drake removed the hands from his neck. He dodged sideways when she tried to kiss him. Sophie was little upset seeing him trying to shun her away. Even though she was right before him, he wasn’t paying attention.“You didn’t miss me, did you?” Sophie pouted as she pushed the man against the wall totally unaware of presence of another woman in the house.Sophie was a woman with just the right curves and her body was oozing with sexiness and maturity. In other words she was the ideal woman of Drake. Elaine turned around and happened to witness a woman kissing Drake as she clung to him, her bosom pressed against him.She felt her heart grow cold. Even worse her eye made a contact with Sophie’s who let go of Drake when she saw someone unexpected. Thousands of emotions could be seen passing through her face: surprise, shock, jealousy, hatr
