CRYSTAL POV

About an hour later, we exited the pizza hut with the cubbies jumping at my side, their little hands in mine. The little demons coaxed me into getting them a pizza, and who was I to say no? Their noises of cheers were all I was focusing on as we sang our way to our car. I helped them into the back and then climbed onto the driver’s seat, and turn the ignition on. The truck rumbled for a heartbeat before dying.

“Shit…” I cursed out loud causing Rosey to giggle at the back.

“That’s a bad word little darling, don’t think of saying it to anyone.” I half-scolded looking at her through the rear-view mirror. She scrunched her face in a muck causing me to chuckle. I refocused on the car again, trying to start it… only to be met by the same thing again. A small rumble, then nothing.

“Are we stuck here?” Jace asked while looking at his tablet. I really shouldn’t have bought it for him.

“Kinda looks like it burkie,” I said refusing to admit it. We couldn’t be, not while we were a go
