Chapter 45

Mia switched sides and turned to her left, facing the window. It was the only thing she could do while locked in her room. Lay down on her bed and turn from one side to the other. 

She had tried pacing from one wall to the other, that soon drove her mad and ready to claw at the walls.

It had been two weeks already since her return to the pack. She knew every achingly slow day that had passed because she had counted the hours and watched every sunrise and sunset from her window.

Thoughts of running had, of course, been permanently fixed in her head, but she hadn’t acted on them. Not because she was subdued, but because she could bet her wolf’s tail, her pack and alpha all expected it and they would be waiting to catch her before she even made it to the trees. The mere thought of the humiliation of being dragged back to this very room was enough to dissuade her.
