Chapter-1

Author Pov

Running through the rain she desperately entered the bus which was ready to shut off. She let out a sigh of relief but shook her head in disappointment as her clothes got slightly wet.

She took out a handkerchief and started wiping the raindrops from her face and neck. She sat in the corner at her usual seat and stared out of the window.

She watched as pearl drops of rain fell rapidly on the glass window of the bus. Her tired yet sad eyes stared at them remembering those memories which never left her mind.

"My God princess stop. You know I don't like rain."

The guy said glaring at her playfully as she held him on the spot making the rain showered over him as well. She giggled before playfully splashing few drops on his face.

"But I love rain and you have to love it too for me today."

Without another word, he smiled at her shaking his head before loving the moment without showing his disliking towards the water dripping over him.

Her eyes snapped open hearing a thunderstorm. She looked out and sighed in relief watching the bus paused at her stop.

She grabbed her bag and went out. Is it bad that even after years of doing that sin and being separated from the people she had destroyed because of her greed she still refused to move on?

She still refused to find her happiness. She still refused to find a reason to smile again. No. It's not that she refused it. She never had an option in the first place.

She was bound to live with the sin she committed she has convinced herself that she deserved to live in guilt and pain. She deserved only sadness nothing else.

Avoiding the rain again She ran inside the company and sighed in relief. The company she works for is a newly opened branch of another company. She had been working here for the past 3 years consistently.

But this branch wasn't able to make much of a success as compared to the original company. The CEO wasn't the owner of the branch instead he was appointed by the owner.

Stroke Enterprises is one of the well-known companies in France but for the past few years, it had been going in losses mostly. When they opened this branch it was assumed that it might be a huge loss for the owner.

But to his luck after appointing Rosaline as the designer the branch started getting a lot of projects. Even more than the original company. The designs presented by her lured a lot of investors in the greed of profit.

After that Rosaline started getting more respect than she expected. Even the owner wanted to meet her personally but it was hard as he couldn't leave his company in France alone.

It was hard for her to get jobs as she didn't have a proper ID card in the starting days of her work. She wasn't even a graduate at that time. So she accepted whatever offer they gave her.

Even after the increase of her salary from time to time she wasn't able to do much for her well being as most of her salary she used to repay the debt that was on her from one particular person she betrayed the worst.

As soon as Rosaline entered her office her boss entered making her look at him with a frown. He sighed heavily looking at her.

"Rosaline you know I told you about us having chances of getting a contract with the famous textiles company. Right." She nodded her head dropping her eyes.

"The Kale Textiles." She whispered making him smile.

"Yes. The owner has only one condition. He wants the designer to present her designs not anyone else." Rosaline said nothing only looked at her wet hands.

"Rose, please. Please give the presentation. It's really important for us. And Mr. Stroke also wanted to come and request you personally as he knows you don't like speaking much. But please just for last time."

"Rosaline." She looked up with her empty eyes.

"Don't ever call me Rose again. My name is Rosaline. And about the presentation, you're my boss you just have to order not request. I will prepare the presentation."

At first, he was stunned hearing how hard her tone was when she said to call her Rosaline. But instantly he forgot everything when she agreed.

"Also Mr. Stroke is coming tomorrow he wants to meet you after the meeting with Mr. Kale." She nodded her head but didn't reply.

And it wasn't any new thing for the man. The girl speaks too little. Sometimes she doesn't even speak the whole day. She had no friends in the workplace or he had never seen her any relatives.

When he asked her about her family she only said she has no one. He could see the girl has gone through something horrible but had no idea of what. Only if he knew how many people have gone through the pain because of her.

Rosaline stared at the file in her hand. She was in her small contracted apartment telling herself to prepare the presentation already but every time she looks at the name all she could feel was tears blurring her sight.

Her thumb moved as she caressed the name printed on it.

Harry Kale.

One tear slid down her cheek letting her feel the pain deep inside her heart.

"Why. Why now. How will I be able to stand in the same room as you? How will I be able to breathe when I know the man I destroyed is watching me. How." She said leaning her back on the sofa.

She clutched the necklace dangling around her neck. Closing her eyes she threw her head on the edge of the sofa letting more tears stream down.

The continuous crying of years made her look like a lifeless doll. The dark circles under her eyes. Her pale face with sadness adorning it. Her emotionless eyes.

"I can't do this." She whispered but then something banged in her head. Making her open her eyes. She slowly wiped her tears and gulped down.

"No Rose. You have to do this. You have to." She nodded kissing the necklace around her neck and with trembling hands she started typing on the laptop but again the tears came out stopping her every move.

She closed the laptop tired of trying. Palming her face she burst out in tears. "I am sorry. I am sorry. I never meant to do that. I am so sorry."

She said to herself crying harder as she sobbed out. No one was there to embrace her this time. The man who always held her in his arms whenever she felt down was the one she pushed away with her own hands.

How can she do that to him? How. If it was love then when that love turned so vicious. When did she turn so ferocious? When. How. Why.

She crouched down on the carpeted floor curling up in a ball. She wiped her tears using the sleeve of her hoodie but they again tears made their way down to her pale cheek.

Her eyes went towards the open window as she stared at the cloudy sky. The beautiful sky reminded her of those magnificent spheres that used to stare at her with only tenderness.

"Harry you know you have beautiful eyes. I can watch them all day night."

"Then watch the cloudy sky whenever you will miss my eyes. It will remind you of me."

Indeed it reminded her of him. The guy who gave her so much and she only snatched everything from him. The sweet guy and she gave him a bitter fate. The saviour of hers and she succeeded in becoming his destroyer.

Tears kept on streaming down her eyes she stared at the sky with nothing but memories clouding her senses.

"Don't ever forgive me, Harry. I don't deserve it."
