Chapter4
Dominic was not one to care about much anymore. He had been around for about 700 years now, and everything was running together, boring, mundane, to his existence. In the last 100 years things enhanced with electronics, with education, and with the overall way of life. However, it really could not take out the cruelty and disgust he felt for being what he was. A vampire, which was not by choice either. His maker, who he killed was a selfish man, who prayed on young men. He was in his late 20’s and around then that was old already. However, his maker was already about 500 years old and had control over the land. When Dominic had moved to the area, he was captured for the King’s amusement and fetish. Dominic was a handsome man then, a dark black man, with beautiful smooth skin, which the King found him to be something he needed to possess. He had been tortured and mistreated in many ways during that life. Then the King had turned him, because he did not want Dominic to die from the King’s selfish and careless mistreatment. He was in the King’s mind, priceless to him. Unfortunately for the selfish King, that had proved to be his undoing. Dominic being turned into a monster by the King, had caused something about Dominic to come alive with power, that made him more powerful than the King realize he could ever be. During the haste of turning him, the King needed to give him his blood to cause the rebirth. However, Dominic’s hunger, abuse, pain, anger, and the deep natural ability he already possessed caused him to drain the King dry. His wounds immediately healed, internally and externally. Although nothing can remove the years of abuse in his mind. He hated anyone in power and who thought they could mistreat anyone like that. He vowed he would not be the same and would not allow anyone else to feel his pain, shame, and disgust. It also helped at that time Vampires were not common either and not really known. Over time he just gave up. Other vampires toed the line as more came about, and he really didn’t care much. Some got out of hand, but it never touched his area or his concern. He had been through slavery, he had been through racism, and now he was “Top of the World” as he put it. Therefore, after so many years of fighting injustice, and finally just being at a place he could ignore all the ugliness in the world, he was content. Well, so he thought. He had women and loved no one to be honest. There were human children that he raised and watched grow old and die. The children were the closes to his heart as anyone could be. When he was human, he had a love that he lost when captured by the King. The King sought her out and married her off to his human son. Who was as cruel as his father; she died in childbirth. He thinks because she had a broken heart and did not want to provide him children, however, she was forced to produce an heir. From the son’s cruelty and abuse she was not well and able to carry the child. The child didn’t live either. Therefore, Dominic had buried his heart, soul, and wants of anything with another person, except children. He was good to them, and they loved him, help watch over his secrets, and stayed closed to his side until they passed. None asked to ever change from what they were to be part of his world and he told them he would never wish it upon any of them. He felt he was not worthy of dying and going to heaven, but he thought if he could help others that would at least make it bearable. Now Dominic was a good man, a good vampire, with morals and ethics, he didn’t kill for fun or to feed, he lived anywhere, and he lived modestly. He did not like attracting too much attention, because it was hard to disappear if needed to be, especially since he did not age. He was unique by being able to be in sunlight anytime and it never drained or hurt by the sun. He was able to heal and regenerate his cells with blood. He found a way to take the blood he needed, without hurting anyone or draining them. He was strong, like most vampire, he could attract his prey as well, but it was this inner strength that he had, and he was able to manipulate minds if needed to be. He found this out the night he drained the King. He felt the King trying with all his might to remove himself from Dominic’s grip, however, Dominic’s mind had locked into the King’s mind, and he was powerless to push away and escape for his life. Dominic was also able to move objects with is mind and over time he was able to increase his ability to levitate things and himself. He knew of no other vampire that could do that, and he kept that a bit of a secret too.To Dominic’s fascination, he found himself back at the school looking for that little red head. There was something about her that he could not shake or put his finger on. In fact, he had a wild dream, just last night about her. He didn’t sleep much or need too. He didn’t dream much either. Although this reminded him of when he had been human. He saw her in full glorious color, she was feisty, in a bit of a bind. He woke up feeling as though he needed to warn her. “Well, that was unexpected!”He could smell she had been there, but her fragrance was faint as if she hadn’t been there in a while. She had a fresh, clean, smell to her and a light aroma of baby oil and baby powder. There was an earthy way about her smell that made her seem grounded and alluring. He followed the sent and notice it led down to the older section of the town. One where no one really ventured too anymore. Not in the last 10 years. There were some intolerable vampires that lived there now and ran the area. In fact, they ran all the good vampires and humans out of the area. He never was worried about it because he lived in the city and didn’t really mess with that stuff anymore. They didn’t really cause too many issues. Well, so he thought. Then unbeknownst to him he saw at the end of the street a streak of red and a dark figure in a confrontation. He stayed in the shadows and approach quickly. Then he realized it was her. She was fighting this vampire, which it looked like she had been protecting the girl on the other side of the lot. His mouth dropped when he saw her spin around and back kick this vampire. Then she ended up throwing what looked to be an old metal rod of some sort at the vampire, straight into his chest. “How, in the hell did she do that!” At his utter amazement the vampire exploded in dust. She smacked her hands together and brushed herself off. She then turned to the girl who was just as shocked as he was. “Who the hell was she! How did she manage to do that and against a vampire? Oh, hell she didn’t need my help.” She picked up the girl and told her she was taking her home. Of course, now he had to follow her. He had to know who she was and how she could do that.As Amber had dropped the girl off at a house, that was not her home, but her aunt’s home due to the disappearance of her parents. He could hear the aunt speaking to Amber and thanked her for bringing her home safe and sound. She asked if she visited Henry today. “Yes, and he is improving but he still isn’t speaking or really responding much more than a hand squeeze now. I am not sure, but he seems as though he is just either in shock or more like a trance. I hope he comes around soon.” Amber tried reassuring the aunt she would keep in touch as well.“You are a lovely person Ms. Amber Park, and I am so thankful for you being so sweet to these kids. I don’t know what happened to their parents, but no one still knows where they are. That isn’t like my brother or his wife. My brother would never leave those kids.” The aunt shook her head back and forth, with a worried expression that radiated waves of dread too.Dominic didn’t like this one bit. He didn’t like that Ms. Park was involved, no matter how she handled herself. He hadn’t seen anyone do what she did as a human. No human could move that fast, with that amount of strength, or calmness. She knew what she was doing. Why had he thought? Why did she know how to that and know how to exterminate a vampire like she did. He chuckled to himself. In all his undead life, he had never come across anyone who did what she did. He knew rust and iron was the key to killing them, because it pollutes their bodies and spreads like wildfire. Staking through the chest and / or heart, well that was just a direct and faster way of exterminating the monster. She had such strength and speed. “Boy she was beautiful the way she moved and executed her plan. I wonder if she has done that before? Of course, she has. That was a technique of grace and beauty. No way! Did I just think that? Okay Dom, where did that come from?” Dominic thought this as he watched and followed Amber Park home and knew where she lived. Then he decided he was coming back to this place and checking out more about the other vampire she took care of.Chapter 5 Amber was washing her face in the bathroom when she felt her power. It was heat that radiated through her system anytime she met another vampire and again after killing them. This time, it was delayed, maybe because she hadn’t fought one in so long. Over 10 years when she was living here before and had her last run in. It was high, and it helped her heal faster and energize her. She almost forgot how it felt. Almost! She decides to jump in the shower to rid herself of the existing residue left by the other vampire. The hot water from the shower always felt welcoming and soothing. Then she felt it again. This time, the power was different and like a vibration. Her whole body glowed this time, and the bathroom, which was dim before, was like she turned on all the lights. It was a rush, and that is when she saw the image of another vampire. However, this one looked familiar, and it was clear as day. She never had a vision like this before. “Oh wait, that is the man who
Chapter 6Dominic was back in the old town location and where Amber had been. He searched around for the scent of the vampire that was attacking her. Then, a woman entered the lot and called out to him. “Were you the one who killed my clan member, Angus?”“No! So, you knew Angus, I see!”“He was one of mine, yes. Did you see who destroyed him?”“Yes, and I found it rather interesting. What was he doing praying on a child?”“You have no business here, stranger, and you need to leave unless you feel like joining my clan and being one of my pets. You’re yummy enough that I could use fresh blood.” Mara purred.Dominic shuttered with the thought. She was an older vampire, created a while ago and had red glowing eyes, the palest skin one could have, and almost white hair. She repulsed him because she smelled like bad news, evil, and disgust rolled in one. “No! I am not here to join, but to inquire. Are you the leader of this clan, then?”“Yes, me and my mate. The Armageddon Clan, maybe you
Amber is beside herself when she wakes up. She is dumfounded, she is in utter shock, she is confused, and she is dripping wet from the dreams. She crawls out of bed, that now she must change her sheets too. She goes to the shower and attempts another shower this morning. The images are etched in her brain, the feelings of last night are like needles on her skin, she is so sensitive all over that when the water run across her skin, it feels good and bad at the same time. She is only in the shower for maybe 10 minutes and towels off. She dresses in something lightweight and comfortable, her go to t-shirt and sweatpants. She can not even withstand putting on her bra because it feels like it is suffocating her. She lightly towels dries her hair and runs a brush through her twisted red locks, however, that too is all she can bear. She shutters with the sensitivity. Amber has never felt like this before or felt so raw. She can’t remember when she had a dream last, and she onl
CHAPTER 8 Dominic is in his kitchen, going through another bag of blood. He doesn’t normally need that much blood, and he is now on his 8th bag. He must contact his personal assistant / familiar to see if he can help locate some more. He maybe has 2 bags left, and that should have lasted him all month easy. “Dang, this is getting stranger. I feel hung over, and that hasn’t happened since I was human.” He grabbed his phone and contacted Alex the assistant. He made Alex his familiar many years back. They had been good friends, and he almost died, so Dominic offered to make him his familiar, which was Alex’s choice. He has been with him ever since. Alex was a good man and did so much for the company as well. He would get him some blood, no problem. After his call was made to Alex, he went and settled down in his lounge chair out on his patio. It was an overcast day and cool out. He felt like the fresh air just seemed to help him relax and cool down. Again, he has
Alex didn’t waste any time after he left Dominic’s suite. He contacted his friend Marco, who happened to be a familiar with the Royal Family he knew. Alex had run into him from time to time, and since they ran in the same circles, they ended up building a nice friendship. Usually, they didn’t bother each other with where they worked; however, this was a little different. “Hey, Marco, I need to see if you can have lunch with me today. I have something to talk to you about, you may be interested in too.” “Well, well, it isn’t my long-lost friend. I thought you were ignoring me from the bad date we had with the twins.”“No, I just got busy with dealing with the mess with the twins. By the way, you owe me.”“Okay, you're right. They were a bit of a handful.” Marco chuckles. “Okay, I will meet you at our spot of spots, same time as always?”“Great! See you then and at the same time as always.”Alex hung up the phone and smiled. If anyone would have information about
While Amber had been cleaning up the house and herself, she had 4 more vivid visions. These were much stronger than she ever had in the past. She saw the vampires she would need to go hunt down, and it wasn’t just a few either. She was shocked with how many visions and how many vampires there were. She went to her computer to do some research on the old downtown neighborhood and find out what the true issues were taking place and what were just vampire related. Her findings kept coming up with the same 2 she had in her visions. Mara and Gedeon Arma from the Armageddon Clan. “Sure, that was original!” The had been there about 10 years now. They moved in shortly after she had left and over the years have really destroyed what was left of the area. Her visions showed her where they were and about their abilities. Mara was crafty and vicious. The more she researched, the more she was getting the feeling this was going to be a bit more than she planned on. 5th Vision: This one was d
Dominic had finished his shower and cleaning up. He was on his computer when Alex returned from the kitchen with food this time. Then he had a vision. Alex had seen the blanked look come across Dominic, and his eyes went pure white. Dominic was having his first vision of many more to come. He was now looking at an image of Henry and his parents. The same vision Amber had he received. However, when it ended, he got a glimpse of Amber and how she collapsed in her living room. He felt, he saw, he could smell the blood of the parents, he felt the vileness of Mara and her Clan, and he felt the despair of Henry and Amber.“Dom! Dom! What is going on? Can you hear me? Dom!As Dominic came out of his vision, he was drained but not as bad as Amber. He was aware of Alex in front of him and able to respond to Alex. “Alex, it was a vision like no other.” He said in a low and soft-spoken manner.“Are you okay? What was it?”Dominic explained the details in the vision. He explained how differe
Amber opens her eyes after several ours on the couch asleep and a few bags of blood given to her by Dominic. As Amber focuses on examining where she was and what she had been doing, she peers in the most beautiful, chocolate, brown eyes, with long eyelashes that frame these orbs of intrigue. She has seen these in her dreams. She had seen them once in person at her school. However, this time, she was just mesmerized by them. Dominic! It is Dominic! Is all she could think in her brain. His skin was dark chocolate, smooth, and perfect. He smiled at her with beautiful, white teeth, a full grin. She noticed he was speaking; however, the words were not registering yet. All she was able to do was examine him. Amber noticed his full set of hair that was a close cut, shave on the side, which she believed was called a “Curly fade” for his style. He was very handsome, stylish, dressed in a dark Armani suite. He took her breath away, just like he did that first day she saw him in her class.
