I woke to the comforting warmth of the crackling fire Cain had set. As my eyes adjusted to the soft glow, I realized he had covered me with warm blankets and had prepared a meal of roasted meat, which he had hunted himself. The aroma filled the air, and my stomach rumbled in appreciation.

“You shouldn’t have gone through all this trouble,” I said, touched by his effort.

Cain smiled warmly, handing me a plate. “It’s the least I can do after everything you’ve been through.”

I savored each bite, feeling the nourishing energy of the meat seep into my tired body. Cain had also gathered herbs, which he handed to me.

“These will help with your wound,” he said gently. “I found them nearby.”

His care and kindness touched my heart. He was helping me without asking for anything in return. I admired his selflessness and knew that fate had brought us together for a reason.
