CHAPTER 17

Opening the door of his office after arriving a little late, letting everyone know that something had to be happening since Diego wasn’t the kind of man who liked to take advantage when he was the CEO of the company, a smile was drawn on his face when he saw the image of his friend sitting on the chair in front of his desk with a cup of coffee in his hands.

“Edmund!” Diego greeted him.

The man whose name was Edmund stood up.

“God heard my prayers. I thought you’d not come.” Edmund hugged his friend, giving a couple of palms on the back.

“Please, take a seat, Edmund. How can I help you now?”

“Hey, man! Do you think I’m here for something? Come on! I’m no longer that kind of man.”

Diego laughed. “If you say so.”

“Anyways, I just come to say goodbye, Diego.”

Diego looked at him in surprise. “What? Where? I mean, why? Where are you going?”

Edmund smiled. “My labor is finished here. You know, new competences every day that I feel like I’m no longer needed.”
