It was working; the strategy was fucking thriving. I could see anger in Nathan’s eyes as I talked about Devin, along with all the nonsense that came out of my mouth. The venture that I acquired this time was seducing Nathan before he returned to Italy. An arduous, complicated, and devious one that I needed to hit the target this time, no matter what. The lack of enough time was another reason that I was direct in action rather than teasing him as there was no time for that.
I had only three days in my hand, 72 hours before he left for Chicago, and that was giving me an anxiety attack right now. After I told them Nathan was leaving in five days, it was a surprising punch to all of them. I lost all my hope when he announced the time of his departure, but it was Matero who was tenacious. He just wasn’t ready to accept the truth, so he came up with a plan. A solid one.
