Chapter 11
"Mike?" I whispered, my fingers tightening on the sheet, panic beginning to set in.
"Right here" he said, and it sounded like he was in front of me. His hand took mine gently, he didn't know yet. I lifted my head toward where his voice was.
"What the hell?!" His voice cracked on the exclamation "your eyes! Holy shit!"
"I know" I felt my eyes start to water, "Mike I....I can't see!!!" The panic was coiling in my chest, threatening to burst into a full blown freak out.
"It's ok, it's ok" he said, I felt his arms around me and knew I was being pulled into his lap. His chin rested on my head. "Babe, your eyes. They are blue, like mine. Except it's your whole eye." I felt him lean closer to me, "and you have green streaks in them." His voice was laced with disbelief.

Dr. Todd had told me to wait 48 hours, she had examined my eyes and had taken samples. Swabbing my eyes, cheeks, even taking a piece of hair; she was as lost as we were.
