Chapter 7

SELENA

"Ma.....Ma'am," I heard a voice in my head as I opened my eyes slowly, the sun filtering in from my bedroom window blinding me momentarily. I sat up staring at a young girl in front of me, rubbing the sleep from my eyes I realized I was on the floor. How did I end up here? I couldn't remember, the last I remembered was crying myself to sleep.

"Good morning, madam. You must be cold from sleeping on the floor, should I have them add a hot tea to your breakfast," she said, a hint of worry in her voice.

I groaned again, feeling the remnants of a headache coming on. "Where is your boss?" I asked, remembering what he had said last night regarding not communicating with my family for a week.

"He ordered that you come down for breakfast." The little girl smiled, I was sure she was way younger than my sister and I wondered how she had become the maid of this heartless monster.

"I am not hungry," I replied tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"I don't think he would be pleased to hear that," she replied. "If not for him, then for me, he has threatened to fire my mother if you don't come down for breakfast."

That monster, didn't he have a heart, why was he trying to manipulate a young child, I wasn't interested in any damn breakfast but I couldn't just punish her by refusing to go down.

I had seen firsthand what he was capable of when he showed me that iPad, if he had truly threatened her, he was sure to keep to his word.

Slowly standing up and taking a deep breath, I nodded my head accepting my fate, "What is your name?"

"Sofia."

"Sofia? Will your boss be at the..."

"Yes and if he isn't, I can help you call his attention before he leaves for work," she interrupted me.

"Let's go then," I said rising to my feet.

"You should freshen up Ma, I will have the..."

"You might as well just leave then, do I think I care about the stupid breakfast?"

"Sorry Ma," she apologize bowing her head as she headed out of the room with me behind.

My head was still spinning, as I followed Sofia downstairs to the dining room, I should have just listened to her and freshened up first but there was no going back on my words now.

I walked into the dining room, fully expecting to find Aiden sitting there with the hopes of being able to talk to him and convince him that I needed to see my mum and sister physically and not over a silly Ipad. Instead, I was met with an unexpected sight.

A woman was sitting at the dining table, delicately eating her breakfast. I was immediately taken aback – who was this woman and why was she in the dining? Since I had been in this house even though I was locked up in that room I knew there was no other woman in this house except me.

Before I could even get a word out, the woman spoke up. "Oh, you must be Selena, his contract wife," she said nonchalantly. "I'm his girlfriend, Natalia."

I felt like the ground had fallen out from beneath me. How could he have a girlfriend and then get married to me? I had not been bothered about his reason behind the wedding because my mind was clouded by the safety of my mum and sister but now I wanted to know why he had gotten married to me.

"You look uglier than I thought," she added rising from her seat and closing the distance between us as she took a strand from my hair looking at me with disgust written all over her face.

I felt my anger quickly rising, did Aiden send her here to taunt me? Was he that petty? I smacked her hand off my hair taking a step back from her.

"You should look in the mirror if you want to know what is ugly," I said to her but instead of getting her angry, she busted into laughter.

"We will see about that when you don't see your wretched mother and stupid sister."

I could feel my blood boiling, and before I knew it, I had spat in her face. I was filled with a mix of disgust and anger and felt like I couldn't control my actions.

Her hands lifted in the air as she slapped me right in the face, her hands had barely left my cheeks when I slapped her back right across the face.

"What the fucking hell is going on here?" Aiden questioned stepping in all dressed in a black suit with Max standing behind him with also a questioning look.

"Baby, thank goodness you are here, this little ugly swine spat on my face," she cried rushing to his side and showing him where I had spat on her as Max brought out a handkerchief from his pocket and offered it to her bowing his head.

She collected the handkerchief from Max not sparing him a glance or appreciating him as she wiped her face clean.

"First of all, she is not an ugly swine, she is now MY WIFE and you will give her that respect," Aiden announced surprising the woman standing beside him and even me.

Did he just introduce me as his wife to his supposed girlfriend? I was angered by the announcement but pleased at the same time with the look of disbelief on the woman's face.

"Secondly, you don't have any right to be in my house announced," he continued in a warning tone. "If I ever see her in my house again without my permission you all will be losing your jobs, Mark my words," he added loudly for all the maids in the dining to hear.

"Baby, Is this some kind of joke? You only got married to her because I agreed to it, we already talked about this, why are you saying all this," the woman frowned at his statement as she spoke in a low voice.

"I want you out of my house this very minute Natalia," Aiden ordered.
