CHAPTER 2~~~~~

The blood moon pack (my pack), and the crystal claw pack has issues which I believe would lead to a fierce war if something isn't done fast and at the right time. Because as I know Alpha vixen of the crystal claw pack is a ruthless being. The alpha of the crystal claw has requested if they would have peace among themselves and stop the war from happening, that a maiden from our clan should be mated to his son.

Alpha King Dimitri suggested that I should be the maiden mated to the alpha vixen's son of the crystal claw pack.

How dumb, for him to think so!

My dad has argued and asked why they choose me and the Alpha said that my dad is the counsellor the pack, and as the counsellor he has to do anything that would maintain the peace of the pack.

"If I was the alpha of this pack, I would find an alternative to this problem other than giving out a port maiden to another kingdom whereas no one knows what would be one of her." My dad suggested.

"Unfortunately Simon, you're not the alpha. And what alternative do you think can help in this kind of situation?" Alpha Dimitri sneered.

"We ought to put our heads together and think. I'm not speaking on behalf of my child because I know she's never going to the crystal claw pack. " My dad confirmed.

But I must tell you that as those last line left my dad's lips, Alpha Dimitri eyes became so red, he looked like he was going to erupt like a volcano anytime soon.

"And who are you Simon to defy my order!" Alpha Dimitri thundered.

"Nothing just a counsellor whose work is to maintain the peace of our pack.." My dad answered him. He Just used his line against him.

I could hear whispers from the people around, some gasped, while some looked at my dad with pity.

I wonder how my dad can be so cool in a situation like this.

I felt like I was sitting on a hot sit! Yes a hot seat because I kept fidgeting as I got to know about the implications of what my dad just did.

He mocked the alpha in a very polite manner.

Woah!

Don't bother asking me how because I my self  don't know how.

I just prayed silently that this doesn't amount to anything.

"To be sincered in my humble opinion, this can be solved amicably without involving our kids in it." My dad said as a matter of fact.

I can see others who are present in the gathering nodding their heads in agreement to what my dad just said.

This infuriated my alpha more.

"Are you the alpha a of this pack or I am?" The alpha asked my dad with a sharp gaze.

"You are, my alpha king and I'm just a counsellor whose work is to maintain the peace of our pack." My dad repeated the last line with a wide grin plastered on his face.

The point is that my dad is always like this. He uses your words against you and allow you to yell and boil in anger meanwhile he stands still in his own serenity.

"If you may excuse now alpha king Dimitri, I have unfinished documents to attend to. Let's go now Xena." We walked out of the pack house.

"Dad what was that about?" I asked him immediately we farther.

"I rather die than give you out to those precarious souls. " My dad confirmed.

"Nobody is dying!" I stressed out.

He looked at me with those tender gaze of his and said, "you know I didn't mean it that way but I'm serious anyways."

"Dad!!" I called out as tears filled my eyes blinding my vision.

"It's okay my dear, the alpha would come for me sooner or later."

"Dad please don't say that, you're only trying to protect and I know it's you job but you're not gonna....die! Not you can't die, mom died because of........."

"Hushhhhh, don't say that, your mom didn't die because of you. How do you want her to feel hearing those words from you?" He asked me and winked ay me which made me chuckle.

"That's my girl." He praised me.

Just as we were about to take another step forward, we saw the place guards racing towards us.

"Dad, what do we do now?" I asked him as I felt a surge of panic rise in me.

"Nothing, just stand and watch their stupidity." He replied me.

Seriously!?

Is something wrong with this man now or is this as a result of old age.

Well, I dared not to voice this out.

The warriors coming after us stopped too.

"What's wrong? Did the alpha asked you all to escort us home? We know the way back home so do not bother following us okay?"

The warriors looked at them selves in utter disbelief, I myself wasn't exempted because I was utterly shocked.

This is unbelievable!

I'm cent percent sure my dad knows the reason they are here but yet he just played mind games on them and they fell for it.

Before my dad could even utter another word, they all fled back to the pack house.

Why did they even come in the first place?

Now you might be wondering why the alpha sent such amount of strong warriors after my dad, right?

Well, let's scratch that later.

We got home in no time, my stepmother came out of her room and rushed toward my dad.

"You're back, I hope nothing happened to you? Did they hurt you?

"Why would they hurt me? Why do you think I would get hurt?" Here comes detector Simon. I actually thought he fell for her drama. As my dad asked her those questions, her hands froze at a place.

"You're behaving like you were at the pack house or something." My dad looked at her with a scrutinizing gaze and she gulped..

"N... Nothing just looking out for you." She stuttered and answered.

"Looking out for me! Okay." He answered her and went into his room leaving only I and her outside.

I just excused my self and left the place.

I went straight to my room, I felt my eyes welling up again.

The thought of my father risking his life for me is really heart shattering. I can't let that happen, if getting mated to alpha vixen's son would keep my dad alive then it's fine by me.

Later the same day I heard a loud bang on our door. I didn't step out at first but it felt kind odd.

I came out of my room to see what was happening and then.....
