Chapter 8: Ivy is not a cheap girl.

It took a while to fill out the necessary paperwork and sign the documents, then they had to pay a hefty fine. Ryan and Ivy finally got their freedom to step out of the police station. Despite being released, neither of them felt joy. They were still seething, simmering with resentment for not successfully getting revenge on each other.

Now, in front of the police station entrance.

"What a stroke of bad luck," Ivy muttered angrily, then turned to Ryan, who happened to stand beside her, her voice irritated: "Hey, you miserable wretch, never show up in front of me again, got it?"

In the darkness of anger, Ivy's curses echoed like thunder on an autumn afternoon. Ryan stood there, his face expressionless, but inside, heaven knew he was boiling. "That remark was meant for someone else," he replied, his voice icy as stone. "I hope I never have to see you again."
