As the elevator left the 106st floor, I wondered what the queen was like. I did not know much about how the world worked, but I did know that we lived in a monarchy. The human race is ruled by a queen and a king vampire. My father told me that the world has been this way for 199 years; since 2102. humans went to war with the vampires in the year 2101. but lost. Thanks to Ms. Maria, I now knew even more about how we lost.
I stood in the back of the elevator, holding Maria's hand. There were 7 floors we had to go up to reach the Queen.
"Ms. Maria?"
"Yes dear?"
"What's on the 113th floor?" Ms. Maria looked down at me, smiling, then got down to my level.
"Deary, we are going to the Royal Throne Room. Usually we need an appointment to go there to talk to
The queen walked to her desk and sat down in her chair. She sat her elbows on the desk; leaning her head down into her hands. "So darling, tell me about yourself." She smiled as she said this, but her tone was demanding. I felt as if I must obey the words she spoke. I felt I had will of my own. I looked at her, my eyes unsure where to look. I focused on her gorgeous hair. The way the colors matched her eyes. I felt like I was looking at a rainbow after it had just rained in the sky. I breathed in and smiled. I tried to choose my words carefully. I did not want to upset the queen. "I am 6 years old, your majesty..." She cut me off before I could continue. "Vera, my name is Vera. You can call me that. I have a feeling I will be getting very close to you, so let's just keep it on a first time basis." She made a half smile. Sh
Maria dropped me off on the 106 floor, and headed back to the queen. We said our goodbyes, but she knew she'd see me again. When I walked into the living room, there was a box wrapped in paper and ribbon. On it was a card. Welcome to the family. I will be in my office all day today. Take this chance to explore your new home. I hope you will like it. You are my child now, but you will still have to do servant jobs. I put the card down on the table, and opened the box. Inside were 2 different things. One was a movie, the other a book. The movie read 'Rava the last dragon', and the book read 'Green eggs and ham'. I was in awe. They were in good condition. To find a book, or to have a movie was rare. Usually you could only see a movie at the theater, which cost a lot. Books were even harder to get
Prince Anthony stood inches away from me. He looked down at me, staring as if waiting for me to say something. We stood in the doorway staring at each other for mere minutes, but I could not bring myself to speak. This was the vampire who bought me from my family. But at the same time… he did save me from my father, who was a good for nothing bum. If the prince did not buy me, my father would have sold me to some other vampire with a wretched fate in store for me. There was a plus side to being in the Prince Anthony family. I could have anything I wanted if I was good. My train of thought was broken when the prince shifted his weight to one foot and put his hands in his pockets.“You have been procrastinating At my door for a while now. Is there something I do for you?” His voice was not really an annoyed tone, but a matter-of-fact tone. I looked down at my feet, holding the bottle out towards him.“It’s
The elevator doors opened, and a teenage kid stepped out. His height was about 5'7. Seemed close to Prince Anthony height. He had ash black hair. It was nicely cut. He had a little bit of his bangs covering one of his eyes. The other eye I could see. It was a candy red. He was a dhampir. He had his hands in his pockets. He wore a uniform. It looked like a school uniform. He had a white button up shirt with a red jacket over it. It buttoned in the middle, just 3 buttons, enough to close the jacket but still see the shirt. He wasn't wearing a tie though. His pants were a darker red than the jacket; his jacket a cherry red, and his jeans a wine red. He had on orange sneakers for shoes. Prince Anthony must have heard the elevator bing, because he was right behind me."Blake, glab you could come. I knew you just got out of school, but I did not want Asoka to go alone." He gave Blake a hug. Was it normal for dhampir to
The shoe store was just like the clothing shop. There were sections for each age. I didn't think I needed a lot of shoes, so I only spent 100 dollars here. I got a pair of sandals, sneakers, and dress shoes. One shoe for every occasion. We went to the phone store next. I felt make-up and hair was a lesser need, so I wanted to make sure I had enough money for the phone. I was down to 968 dollars. They were busy. People were rushing around, looking at all different types of phones. I had never had a phone before so I did not know which one to get. I walked up to a lady looking 28 years old. "Ms.? I've never bought a phone before... What phone should I get. She looked back at me, and said. "You should get the XMZ for your first phone. It has a lot of memory space, and you can fit it in your pocket. It's a decent size when you open it, but it folds in half.
I woke up at 6:30 am. I had spent my night putting things away and getting ready for my first day at a real school. Carter elementary. It is an all vampire school, but I was sure things would go over well. I did have the fear of getting ate in the back of my head, but I didn't let it stop me. This was what I had always wanted; to go to a school with other kids. 1st grade was not the lowest grade. I figured the prince did not think I needed to start in kindergarten though. 6 years old was the age for first grade, but I was not sure if I was smart enough to start there. I chose to wear the dress uniform for my first day. I had it laying out on top of my dresser. I was not sure if there was a rule against it, but I chose to wear purple stockings. Then I had my black polished dress shoes to wear. After hitting my alarm button
As the elevator passed the 65th floor, I noticed a feeling of happiness spread across my body. I had never felt this sensation before. It was new to me. It made me let out a sound… of maybe joy. I didn’t know why I was feeling this way. I looked around the elevator full of vampire students, and noticed it. I smelt the rust and iron. My joy was turned into fear as I screamed. Every vampire in the elevator turned towards me. Some looked like they were going to bite me while others were being held back by the older vampires. I was grabbed by the arm and yanked up into the air. I was too terrified to notice who put me on their shoulders. I looked down at my figure, seeing the tiny tooth mark that was just made by a little girl. She looked 6 years old, the same age as me. The person holding me was hollering at the little girl now. I was still in shock so I wasn’t paying attention to what they were saying.
It was September, so I was a month behind in school. The teacher had me come to the front of the class after the bell rang to introduce myself to the class. As I walked to the front, a girl grabbed my hand and whispered. "You tasted like milk chocolate." It was a white girl, with bright pink hair, and fuscia pink eyes. She was the only person I'd seen with different colored hair besides me and the queen. She had chosen to wear the dress uniform like me, but had pink stockings instead of purple. She looked like an angel, with a shin to her skin. It was like she was radiating light from her skin. There was no window in the classroom though. I wasn't sure how her skin could look like that. "Let's be friends!" She asked me as she let go of my hand. The girl bit me in the elevator and now wanted to
