LESSONS AND PRACTICES

Cloe couldn't get what she had heard out of her head. She knew she had made a decision to stay with Tulio, she loved him and couldn't imagine living away from him, but the mafia scared her. Paco and Jânio scared her and as long as she lived she would never forget the torment and tension she suffered inside Paco's office. And as much as Tulio would not share his life of crime with her, because that was how his life was. He was a criminal. She heard his conversations with Sopapo and Gringo, she knew he had killed people and would kill more, as much as he was a criminal, she felt his hand squeezing hers when Jânio had entered Paco's office. He was afraid. Gringo was too, so much so that he had told her to say nothing, to be quiet and not to interfere.

" What are you so thoughtful about? " Milla was sitting at the kitchen table with Ant biting the fingers of her hand.

" So many things, Milla, I've been thinking about so many things.” she sat down facing her friend.
