God I’m such a Simp! I rolled my eyes at myself as I closed the truck door.
Amanda was chuckling at me.It’s not funny! What the fuck are wolves doing on my property? I growled angrily. One of the wolves, he was black with white paws, charged at me, teeth bared. He was significantly smaller than Dylan, and smaller than me, but he was fast. He wasn’t fast enough though.I dodged his leap and rolled to the right, watching in amusement as he slammed into the truck door. He shook his head and growled at me, stalking towards me. I bared my fangs at him, daring him to try to strike. He didn’t get the chance to try before Dylan came charging from around the house. He tackled the black wolf and pinned him under his massive paws.I clicked into their mind link to listen.--my mate! Touch her again and you will lose your life! Dylan growled at him. That’s your mate! The wolf replied, and that’s when I realized she was female. It also angered me that my mate was touching another female. Amanda was starting tobecome more angry by the minute. So you're mated to a whore! You know she can’tsatisfy you like I can. The she-wolf tried to rub her muzzle across his face, but I growledcatching her attention.Awww, baby, look! She linked Dylan. The bitch doesn’t want to see you mate with someone better than her!I interrupted their link, I suggest you stop trying shit, before I rip your throat out and feed it to your pack for breakfast tomorrow morning. She growled at me, and Dylan smirked, which only irritated her more. Or maybe we could do late night wolf burgers. I made a very exaggerated thinking face. I don’t know Dylan, what do youthink? He looked like he was about to start laughing. She looked like she was ready to kill me.I gestured to her, Let her up Dylan. His eyes widened. Your clothes are in the driver seat of the truck. Go get dressed. I’ve got her.She smirked. If she really thinks she can handle me, let her try.He shook his head and let her up. Have fun getting your ass kicked. For a moment I thought he was talking to me, but he looked at me with a smirk that only angered her even more. She leapt back up onto all fours and crouched to jump and strike. I stepped back, and shifted back into my tiger. The wolf's eyes widened, and she looked afraid for a moment. But she regained her composure, and repositioned herself to strike.Okay bitch, let's go! I hissed. She launched herself first, but I sped forward and slid under her airborne body. Her body landed on the ground with a skid. She ended up hitting the front porch instead of me. I chuckled as she got back up onto her feet and faced me again. This time I moved first. She met me halfway. Her teeth were wrapped around my front paw, squeezing down. I felt the bones crunch and howled. With a growl, I snapped out of the pain and drove my teeth into her neck and squeezed. I felt warmth spread through my mouth, and tasted iron. If she moved, she’d die. I had her in a tap or die grip. She released me, and went limp.I give! I give! She yelled through the link.I adjusted my grip on her throat and threw her to her pack members.Get this trailer trash off my property! And if I ever see her come near my mate, or my property, EVER again, I will kill her! I yelled at everyone. They all bowed their heads and shifted back to their human forms. A few grabbed her and left, carrying her back to the pack.Dylan had changed by that time and was leaning against the hood of his truck, staring at me with amusement and pride. It wasn’t a long fight, but it showed I could handle myself.“Well you just took out the pack’s best fighter,” Dylan smiled, reaching out to run his hand through my fur.I pushed my head into his hand and Amanda couldn’t resist but made us purr again. I swear she was insufferable sometimes. If that’s your strongest warrior, then you need to do some serious training, because she was pathetic, I linked him.Dylan was grinning like no other, but then remembered the remainder of the pack was still watching us.He kneeled down next to me and whispered, “Could you please shift back? I need to do some introductions.”I nodded and took a step back. Within seconds I was back in human form, still dressed in a sports bra and shorts. I was very bloody though, from the fight that had occurred in the backyard. He turned and smiled at the pack members that were still there. “Everyone!” He announced. “This is Anna,” He gestured to me. “She is my mate! Should she accept me, she will be your Luna! I expect you all to treat her with respect, or I won’t hesitate inallowing her to deal with you, how she feels fit! Understood?”Everyone in the yard bowed their heads, “Yes, Alpha!”Dylan nodded, “You are all dismissed. Return to the pack. I will link if anything else is needed of you.”They all raised their heads, shifted back into their wolves, and left through the trees, the same way they came. I sighed and turned back to the house. I was bloody, dirty, tired, and in desperate need of coffee. Rosy was standing on the front porchwearing the same outfit as me. It was cute that we dressed so similarly for 2 very different looking people.Dylan cleared his throat, and I turned back to him, one eyebrow raised. “Aren’t you coming in?” I asked, gesturing to the house. He ran a hand through his hair and nodded, “Um, yeah, sure.” He didn’t sound very sure, but oh well.I turned back to the house and gave Rosy an exasperated look, “We’re gonna need some coffee!”She smiled, “I know, that’s why there’s already a pot of coffee made, and happily waiting for us in the kitchen.”I gave her a huge grin, “I freaking love you!”“This is why we are sisters,” She chuckled. The 3 of us sat at the kitchen table drinking coffee. Neither Rosy, nor I, had taken a shower yet. Our first need, and want, was coffee. That was essential to our survival.Rosy broke the silence first by slurping her coffee loudly, making Dylan and I look at her.“So, what’s gonna happen now?” She wondered.I took another gulp of coffee, “What do you mean?”She gestured between Dylan and I, “You guys are mates, and he’s the Alpha. So what does that mean for us?”I shrugged and looked at Dylan, “I can’t leave here, Dylan. I have to stay.”He looked shocked, “But you’re my mate! You’re supposed to be my Luna, and help me look over the pack!”I shook my head, “I have obligations here. I have responsibilities that I will not leave.”Dylan looked more pouty with each word that came out of my mouth. “I am not just going to leave Rosy here by herself to fight the dead. That’s not something I
I took another sip of my coffee before speaking. What I had to say shocked both of them.“I, Roxanne Fisher, hereby reject you, Dylan McGuire, as my mate,” I stated with a hiss.A pain spread through my chest as soon as I finished the sentence. I put a hand to my chest with a grimace, while Dylan growled in pain.“I, Dylan McGuire, hereby accept your rejection,” he mumbled through the pain. The pain that erupted through us was worse than I could ever have imagined. My chest felt like it was on fire and being turned inside out. I fell out of my chair and howled. I curled up in a ball and cried. Amanda yowled and whined before she retreatedcrying.Dylan wasn’t farring much better. He had his head on the table, tears streaming down his face onto the hard surface. I knew that this was wrong to do, but it had to be done. I wasn’t going to give in and just leave to be a Luna.Another pain spread through my abdomen and I cried out again. Dylan hopped out of his chair and kneeled down
I awoke to a dark room. From my position, and my comfort, I could tell I was in my bed. I slowly opened my eyes. My head was pounding, and my vision was spotty for a few moments. I groaned as I sat up. Amanda was curled up in the fetal position in the back of my mind. Were you there for all of that? I asked her. She groaned, Yes, I was. I just sat back and listened. She left it at that, and went back to curling up. I knew she wasn’t going to be fine for a little bit. I just needed to give her time. I sighed and rubbed my eyes, my feet dangling off the edge of my bed. My curtains were closed, leaving my room very dark. I grunted as I stood up. My legs almost gave out beneath me, but I caught myself on the bedpost. I was wearing a pair of black basketball shorts, and my favorite neon blue sports bra. Slowly, I walked over and threw my curtains open. I heard someone grumble behind me, and I whirled around hissing. Dylan was in my recliner, waking up. His hair was messy, and it loo
The moment I stepped outside my room I was hit with a heavenly scent. It was the delicious smell of coffee. I raced down the stairs into the kitchen. Rosy was sitting at the table looking somber, but her face lit up when she saw me.“ANNA!” She squealed, jumping up and wrapping me in a hug.“Hey Rosy,” I chuckled. “Good to see you too!”She pulled back, grabbing me by my shoulders, and looking into my eyes. She gasped, “Your eyes look different!”I gasped, “What’s wrong with them?”She smiled, “Nothing is wrong per say, but your left eye is gold now. Like a bright vibrant gold.”“So is yours!” I pointed out. “Your right eye is gold!”I pulled out of her grip and we ran to the bathroom to look in the mirror. I saw my reflection and put my hand up to my face in shock. My left eye was gold, and it was pretty.Rosy did the same. “What happened?” She wondered.“I met the Moon Goddess,” I explained. “She said I would be a bit different when I came back. I guess this is what she me
“So you do handle more than the portal?” He wondered. “We handle rogues that get too close,” I spoke while holding my coffee cup close. “Any supernatural that poses a threat to us, humans, or anyone for that matter, we handle. We’ve even handled vampires,” I mumbled the last part. I never had the best impression of vampires. The Moon Goddess was right. Our parents never wanted us to be a part of the supernatural world. Normally we would have been raised knowing who and what we were, but we didn’t know till we were 7 years old. Vampires had stumbled onto our property and our parents had been sleeping. I had wanted something to drink and saw the movement out the window. When I went to run to my parents room, the front door flew off its hinges and knocked me back into the kitchen. The sound of the door and my scream, had awoken my sister and my parents. They dealt with the situation, but not before a vampire had gotten ahold of my mom. He didn’t kill her, but that was when Rosy
A pain erupted through my back as the wolves claws finally came down, causing me to howl in pain.He hissed, and his eyes flared in anger, as he slid out from under me, putting his body in front of mine. Protecting me from any further injuries.“Enough!” Dylan shouted, his voice radiating across the yard. The wolves froze, and the vampires turned to him expectedly.“We do not have a quarrel with these vamps,” Dylan strode towards his pack members. “SHIFT!”His Alpha tone made them all return to their human forms. A female stood over my mate and I, with a smirk on her face. She was proud of the pain she had inflicted.“Mate,” Dylan mumbled, staring at her.She looked up at him and smiled, “Mate.”Dylan looked at my bloody back at her feet, and the blood that covered her hands, and his face hardened. “I, Dylan McGuire, reject y-”He was cut off by me pulling myself off the ground and throwing myself at him, tackling him sideways.I pinned him by the throat, growling at him, “R

For the second time, I woke up to light streaming through my window, with a pounding headache. It looked to be just past noon. My back ached, and I tried to roll over, only to find myself restricted. I slowly opened my eyes to find my mate fast asleep next to me. His arm was wrapped around my waist, pinning me down. He was so angelic when sleeping. A small smile played on his lips. His hair had fallen in his face, covering half his face. I gently brushed it behind his ear, and smiled at him. I felt so lucky. I quickly realized he was shirtless in my bed and I couldn’t help but gape at his perfectly defined 8 pack. His body looked flawless, and it made me want to run my hands all over every inch of him. Hey, stop gaping at our mate, Amanda chuckled. I can hear your thoughts too. But look at him, I sighed. Isn’t he perfect? She purred, Yes he is. “I can hear you, you know,” his voice caught me by surprise, making me jump. My jaw dropped. Oh shit, Amanda grumbled. We forgot about
