Chapter 3

Elena Marshall's POV

"Get up you useless bitch. Come on get up right now" Someone shouted at me. 

I opened my eyes and saw Lina was standing beside my bed. 

"What?" I asked her politely. 

"I want to buy a diamond pendant for myself. Here is the money. I need it before evening" She said and threw some money on my lap. 

"Why don't you buy it by yourself?" I asked her. 

"Wowww. Little bitch got her tongue I see. Listen carefully, you useless woman. I have a meeting. And you are a useless woman so I am just trying to make you useful. Now don't try to use your worthless brain" Saying this, she left from my room. 

I put the money in my bag. Taking my clothes, I entered my washroom and took a long bath. 

Getting dressed, I came out. 

After getting ready, I took my bag and came downstairs. I saw my family was having breakfast. 

I was about to leave when dad called me. 

I went towards the dining table. 

"Yes, dad" I spoke up. 

"Sit down. I need to tell you something important" He said and I got surprised. 

I sat down and he spoke up," Tonight my most important client is coming to our home. I want you to stay outside until she leaves" Dad said and I smiled. 

"Why do you feel ashamed to introduce me as your daughter, dad?" I asked him and he stopped eating. 

"Look, just look at your mannerless daughter. Today she is asking you questions. Tomorrow she will argue with you. And, who knows if she starts sleeping around. Just kick her out from this house before she destroys our reputation" Jenny told dad and smirked evilly at me. 

"Just get out of here before I dig you here you ungrateful bitch" Dad shouted at me and Jenny and Lina smirked at me. 

I stood up from the chair and started walking away. 

"Don't forget to bring my jewelry, you worthless girl. I need to look the best tonight" Lina shouted at me. 

I just nodded and left home quickly. 

"I wish you were here mom" I whispered and stopped a taxi. 

"Where to mam?" The driver asked me. 

"To city shop" I answered and got in. 

Taking out my phone, I started checking while the driver started driving. 

I was busy checking the news but the taxi stopped suddenly. 

"What happened? Why did you stop?" I asked the driver. 

"Mam, something is wrong with the taxi. Let me check, mam" He said and I nodded at him. 

Soon he got down and started checking the taxi and I started checking the news again. 

After some time the driver spoke up, "Mam, the problem is big. You have to take another taxi" 

I nodded at him and paid him and then got down. 

"Let's walk Elena. The weather is cool today" I muttered to myself and started walking. 

Whispering my favorite song, I kept walking when my eyes fell on someone and I got frozen. 

A small kid was standing in the middle of the road. Just then I saw a car was coming towards the kid at a high speed. 

My heart started breathing fast. I dropped my bag and started running towards the kid while shouting at the car that a kid was standing. 

But the car kept coming at the same speed. I saw the kid crying hard looking at the car. 

The car was about to hit the kid when I pushed him the other side and fell along with him. 

The car stopped. Finally, the careless driver got back his eyes. 

I saw peoples were running towards us. 

I looked at the kid and saw him sobbing. 

"Are you hurt, baby?" I asked him softly. 

The kid nodded as no and hugged me tightly in fear.

"It's okay. You are safe now" I whispered and patted his back softly. 

"What the hell your kid was doing in the middle of this road? Did you tell your son that the road is yours? Because of you both, I got late" Came an angry voice from the back. 

I turned towards the person and saw a man in an expensive suit looking at me with a killer look. 

I looked at him with shock. 

"Doesn't he have manners? He was about to kill a kid. Instead of saying sorry, he is shouting at me?" I whispered and stood up. 

"What the hell are you both still doing here? Move from here you bloody middle-class girl. What do you want money? Tell me how much you want? It is your act, right? You told your son to stand in front of my car so you can get money" He shouted at me. 

"Listen here carefully, how dare shout at me after your careless act? Don't you know how to drive? Didn't you take the training? Or did you stole this car and were running away with this you cheap man. Apologize right now" I shouted at him. 

Hearing this, he started laughing. 

"Apologize! To a middle-class girl. Do you even know who am I?" He asked me rudely. 

"Who are you? Abraham Lincoln?" I asked him and his eyes went wide. 

"No? Then Barack Obama?" I asked him again and this time he looked at me with shock. 

"No. Then Joe Biden?" I asked him again and he kept looking at me with shock. 

"No right? Then I don't need to know you. But let me tell you who you are. You are arrogant, mannerless, a spoiled jerk. Oh, I forgot to mention you are an annoying rich person. Now satisfied? Or if you want I can add something more" I told him and was about to go when he held my wrist tightly and spoke up. 

"How dare you insult me in public? Very soon I will let you know who am I you whore" He said and my blood started boiling. 

And, I ended up slapping him tightly and shouted at him," Don't you dare to touch me you jerk. And you called me a middle-class girl right? Do you know what you are? You are a third-class man with no humanity at all" 

Shouting at him, I picked up the kid and started walking towards my bag. 

"You will regret deeply. I will make sure. I will see you soon" The arrogant man said and got in his so-called expensive car and drove away. 

"All rich people are bad" I muttered and looked at the kid. 

"Where is your mommy, baby?" I asked him. 

The point towards a shop. 

"Your mom is inside the shop, baby?" I asked him and he nodded his head. 

"Okay. Then let's go" I said and started walking towards the shop. 

When we entered the shop the kid point towards a lady and spoke up," Mommy" 

Hearing this, the lady started running towards us. 

"Jane, my baby. Where were you? Mommy was so scared. Thank you mam for taking care of my baby" The lady told me. 

"It's okay. But next time be careful" I said and the lady nodded at me. 

I smiled and left the shop smiling brightly and started walking towards my shop. 

After completing my work, I left the shop and went to jewelry shop and brought a pendant for Lina. 

When I came outside my home, I called Lina. She came out and took the pendant from me. Then I started walking towards the nearby park. 

When I entered the park I saw the park is almost empty. I sat on a bench and looked at the sky. I saw a star in the sky. People call it, the evening star. I saw the star is glittering so brightly although it is lonely. I started comparing myself with the star. I am also lonely as the star but the difference is that star is glittering in the light. And I am glittering in pain.
