Chapter 4: A New Day

"Young Master, time to go to school!" Susan, the butler of the Mores family gently tapped Vince shoulder while he was sleeping sideward on his king-sized bed.

Vince was Jon's and Halley's only child. He was just six years old but his way of thinking was way higher than his age. In short, he had a high IQ. But a little bit low in EQ for at his age, he was already adorably arrogant.

"Hrmm! School is boring! I'd rather go to my dad's company and sit on his executive chair like a real boss!" he whimpered as he covered his face with his pillow.

Susan who was a middle-aged woman knew exactly Vince's character. She chuckled at his whine and tapped his back again.

"Come on! We can tell your father about your wish. Who knows he would agree!" she said trying to convince him with her little trick.

Then Vince suddenly turned around and lay flat staring sternly at her.

"Aunt Susan, do you still think you can trick me with that childish alibi huh?" he snorted which made the middle-aged woman blush in embarrassment.

"Ahu! I forgot I am talking to a genius at the moment!" Susan covered her embarrassment by praising him.

Vince may be genius but he was still a kid after all. He immediately smiled at Susan's praise towards him.

He was about to get up when he heard a tiny cry outside of his room.

"Is that a new toy? A talking doll? I am not a girl. Whoever gave that as a present is stupid and he or she is insulting me!" he suddenly got mad thinking the baby's cry was from a toy doll.

Susan laughed out loud at his hysteric reactions. She stroked Vince's head which made him frown even more.

"Vince, that is not a toy. That is your new sister!" she corrected as she stared deeply at him.

"What? No way!" he exclaimed in disbelief as he hastily jumped out of his bed. He went straight towards the grand staircase and there he saw his parents holding a newly born baby girl.

His eyes narrowed as he felt tingling jealousy from the baby when his parents were smiling from ear to ear while coaxing her.

He strode downstairs with heavy steps which made Jon and Halley stunned.

"Oh! There you are. Good thing you are awake now little man!" his father spoke as he carried his son and brought him closer to his mother who was happily carrying Princess Ariya.

Vince took a glimpse at her. His little eyes narrowed as his well-shaped brows furrowed. He struggled to come down from his father's tight hug.

"Who's the ugly baby?" he suddenly asked while his sharp-pointed nose wrinkled.

Halley just slightly laughed at his obvious jealousy. She stroked her son's head and said instead, "Don't call her ugly. From now on she is going to be your baby sister. Her name is Arianna!"

"That's magic! How did you two make an instant human in one night?" he raised his eyebrow while innocently asking his parents a vulgar question. He even placed his little hands on his waist.

"Vince! I will never allow you to say that again. Promise me, you will never ever say that again, do you understand?" his father advised him as he bent his knees to level his stare at his own son's eyes.

"Okay! I will keep my word. But why do I need a sister? I am happy on my own!" he still snorted as he taunted Princess Ariya who was at that time staring at him.

Their little eyes had met. Vince felt something unusual as he gazed at her. The same thing with the princess, she felt like she heard her mom's voice.

"He will protect you with all his heart and soul. Stay with him at all times!" Queen Ayana softly whispered in her thoughts.

"Vince, aren't you supposed to be having your breakfast now? It's time for you to go to school!" his mother reminded as she looked at her husband's wristwatch.

"Mommy, the school is boring. Can I go to Mores Developers instead?" Vince stubbornly asked as he gave his mom a puppy eye.

The Mores Developers was Jon's inherited company from his parents and it had been standing tall for three decades now.

"Well, I can bring you to the company this afternoon and we will go and see the new hotel that we are building near the lake. You have to attend to your classes in the morning first!" his father suggested rather which made his lips twitch.

"Alright! Promise me, you will pick me up at school!" he repeated before he walked towards the dining room.

"I promise! Now, go and have your breakfast!" Jon smilingly replied while shaking his head.

"Your son is as stubborn as you!" Halley lovingly complained as she followed her son's direction with her gaze.

Princess Ariya was just quietly listening to them. She understood what was going on. She moved her hands and her tiny fists as she giggled.

Her voice stunned the two people in the living room for it was like a siren. That was probably the most beautiful giggle they had ever heard from a baby.

"This child is really giving me some mystery!" Jon said internally.

"She is so beautiful!" Halley happily whispered.

.

Meanwhile, near the stream...

Sira was watching the Mores family from the reflection on the water. She was delighted to see that they had welcomed the princess wholeheartedly.

Also, when she saw the shadow of Queen Ayana beside her daughter when Vince was staring at her; she already had a tacit understanding.

She imprinted Vince with the princess right away. When their eyes had met, that was the start of their strong connection to each other.

Indeed, it was true! For even when Vince was at school, he couldn't forget Princess Ariya's deep black eyes.

"Why do I have such an ugly baby sister? Mom and dad can just give me a real white puppy than a baby that looks like a puppy instead!" he complained in silence as he propped his chubby cheeks with his fists while his elbows were resting on his small school desk.

"Vince, what are you thinking this time?" his teacher Honey asked in amusement.

Vince looked at his favorite teacher in Science and said, "Miss Honey, if I will give you a gift which one do you like better?  A baby that looks like a puppy or a puppy that is as cute as a baby?"

Miss Honey was flabbergasted with his puzzled question that she chuckled before she answered.

"I will choose a baby that looks like a puppy because it is cute!"

"Boy! You are just like my parents. Your minds are deteriorating. I suddenly don't want to grow up!" he blurted out as he sat straight and shook his head.

Miss Honey laughed at his statement including his classmates who were attentively listening to him.

Little Vince had no idea but the princess heard everything he had just said about her in her thoughts. Since their connections had started, Princess Ariya could hear Vince even from a far distance.
