Chapter 17 Meeting her other son

When Natasha returned home, she couldn’t find Jack. All she found was a note from him on the dining table.

‘Mommy, where have you gone without informing me? I was so worried when I didn’t see you in the morning. I hope you are fine. It’s getting late now. I'm off to school.’

Natasha sagged on a chair, pressing the note against her chest. She couldn’t hold back her tears. She always despised herself for not being able to fulfill his wishes. She eventually became an irresponsible mother who left her six-year-old son alone at home.

She regretted going to the bar. If she hadn't gone there, nothing would have happened the way it did last night.

"I am so sorry, Jack. It won’t happen again." She sobbed with her head bowed, her elbows on the table.

She then suddenly remembered Nia.

"Nia…" She instantly stopped crying and pulled her phone out of her purse.

She phoned her.

The ring went on and on, but Nia didn’t answer the call. It made Natasha even more worried. She dialed her uncle’s number.
