Chapter 21

(Evelyn’s POV)

When I opened my eyes, it was pitch dark and I was not able to see anything. I heard a clanking of chains when I tried to move around. I could clearly feel the chains around my hand and legs again. After a few seconds, one of the lights switched on and I closed my eyes for a few seconds because of it.

And when I opened it, there was a man standing in front of me. His face was not visible but when he came into the light I could see him clearly.

“You finally woke up” He said in his deep voice and was wearing a well-fitted suit.

“What do you want from me?” I screamed at him while trying to wiggle around the chains that were hurting my hand.

“Your life!” The second those words came out of his mouth, I looked at him with wide eyes.

“Wh-What? Why? I didn’t do anything to you…I don’t even know you!” I started screaming for help when he didn’t say anything and just looked at me with some kind of amusement in his eyes.
