Chapter 4 You Disgust Me

The man's cruel words poked at Claire's sore spot. Back then, things happened against her will, and it was only after she had gone abroad that she learned that she was pregnant. Worse still, she didn't even know who the child's father was, and she had no one to seek help from.

After going through countless dilemmas, Claire finally mustered up the courage to keep the baby. It was a decision she'd never regretted, and a strange man was in no position to lecture her otherwise.

"Excuse me, I don't think that's any of your business." Claire's expression turned cold as she continued, "He only spilled some water on you by accident and mistook you for someone else. You have no right to say that to me."

Fixating her eyes on the man, her gaze glowered. "I’ll educate my son. You don’t need to interfere."

"You’ll educate him?" Javier suddenly snorted, and the mockery in his voice was heavy as he said, "I'm afraid a mother like you will only be a terrible influence on the child."

Claire clenched her fists tightly and gritted her teeth. However, she couldn't hold back her anger anymore. She grabbed a glass from the table beside her and splashed the content on the man's face.

The water droplets slid down Javier's face and dripped onto the floor. Claire looked at his gloomy expression and smirked indifferently. "Thank you for your concern, I guess."

After saying that, she ignored the man whose blood was boiling in vexation and casually took Ollie back to her seat.

Ollie's mood was down after experiencing the farce earlier, which made Claire feel distressed. She'd never seen her son asking for his father, yet strangely, something had gotten into him this time for him to call a stranger his father.

"Ollie, what happened just now?" She gently smoothed Ollie's hair from his forehead and asked in a warm tone, "Why did you call him Dad?"

Ollie raised his head and blinked at her as he answered firmly, "He’s my dad. I can feel it!"

Claire didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Obviously, one couldn't just rely on their feelings to find their biological father.

"Alright, that's enough." She poked his forehead softly and then reminded him with a serious look, "Don't do that again. Do you hear me?"

Fortunately, the flight went smoothly afterward. She never saw the strange man again until the plane landed at its destination.

When Claire exited the airport with Ollie, she saw Chantelle and Armand, who were there to pick her up. Their reunion after the past five years came much sooner than she'd imagined.

"Claire, long time no see." Chantelle was holding Armand's hand, leaning against his shoulder sweetly. With a smile, she said, "I've missed you so much."

Claire thought that she would no longer feel emotional after being apart for so long, but the hatred deep within her surged as soon as she saw the couple, so much so that she could hardly suppress it.

"Really?" she responded blandly. Chantelle's pretentiousness was revolting.

Meanwhile, Ollie, who was sitting on the luggage, inquisitively poked his head out to see what was going on. Looking at Chantelle and Armand, he asked, "Who are they?"

Chantelle was stunned to see a child. She'd been so focused on showing off her affection with Armand to Claire that she'd completely missed out on the child's presence. "Who…"

Before she could finish her question with a baffled look, Claire explained calmly, "This is my son, Oliver Weiss."

"Her son? Where did he come from?" Chantelle thought suspiciously. She didn't even know that Claire was married, let alone that she had given birth to a child.

"Geez, Claire." Chantelle deliberately put on an act and nudged Claire jokingly. "How could you not tell us that you're married? That's such big news."

Now that Chantelle was behaving as though what happened five years ago had been completely forgotten and calling her name so affectionately, Claire had to admit that Chantelle's acting skills were excellent.

However, it was incredibly abhorrent to her. "What's the point of putting on an act now? You disgust me."

The moment she said that, Armand, who had been silent all the while, suddenly stood forward and bellowed angrily, "Chantelle, why do you even bother caring about her? This kid must be the bastard result of her disgraceful act all those years ago!"
