“Watch yourselves!” Claire seethed.

Standing aside, Oliver also felt irritated by his malicious aunt, who kept picking on him and his mom. His little body filled with so much rage that he charged ahead to kick Chantelle with all his might. “You’re a meanie! Stop bullying my mom!”

That caught Chantelle off guard, causing her to stumble and roar, “Why, you petulant rascal! I’ll teach you a lesson for doing that!”

She reached out, ready to hit Oliver but stopped when Claire grabbed her wrist.

“Who gave you the right to punish my son? Get Lost now!” Claire barked. She struck Chantelle heavily, causing the latter’s cheek to turn bright pink.

No one had ever dared hit Chantelle all her life. Thus, she found herself flushing in humiliation, tears welling in her eyes as she shrilled. “Look at what she did—Claire attacked me, Armand! All I wanted to do was lecture Ollie for misbehaving, but she slapped me for it!”

The situation made Armand’s face darken while he spoke with a frostier tone. “
