Father reached out to touch my arm, his eyes filled with regret, as if realizing he had gone too far with his words. But I didn't care. The damage was done already.

“Myla,” he called softly, his voice trembling. It was the same voice that once soothed me as a child, but now, it only intensified the hatred I felt for him.

“I… fucking… hate… you, not just you, but every single one of you sitting in this room,” I snapped.

Without waiting for their reaction, I turned and walked up the stairs.

When I reached my room, I slammed the door shut and fell onto the bed. My sobs sank into the pillows, while my father’s harsh words replayed in my mind.

He has hurt me more than I could bear, breaking me in ways I never imagined.

“I've had enough.” I hissed through gritted teeth, wiping my tears away with shaky hands. “Enough of Vanessa and her mind games. Father has no idea the fire he's playing with.”

I stood up, ran my fingers through my hair, and grabbed my suitcase. I packed furiously, tossing

“For how long were you planning to hide from me, Myla?” Jaxon asked, his voice laced with pain.I froze, my heart racing as I clutched the door, unable to look away. My pulse quickened, and my eyes darted toward Jaxon, who was standing in the doorway. He looked furious, yet heartbreakingly vulnerable. His dark eyes pierced into mine, the weight of his emotions hitting me hard.“Jaxon ...” I called, my voice was barely a whisper and my throat dry.“You left without a word, Myla," his voice cracked, shattering the calm posture he was trying to maintain. “ You didn’t care about how I’d feel, about what you left behind. Do you even know what that night did to me? After that night, Myla... after you and I…” He stopped himself, running a hand through his hair. “You’ve been in my thoughts every second since then. I can’t focus, I can’t sleep, I can’t breathe without thinking about you.”His words crushed me hard. I stepped back instinctively, but he followed, closing the distance.“Please

Cynthia's crazy idea had my head spinning. Strip Jaxon? Change identities? Fake passports? It all sounded like something out of a bad movie. But here we are, caught, with no room for mistakes. The air was tense, heavy with the weight of what we were about to do. My heart pounded so hard I thought it would shatter my ribs. Cynthia stood before me, her usual calm smirk plastered on her face like this was just another one of her wild, adventurous games. But this wasn’t a game. This was real, and the stakes were life or death.“Cindy, please, listen to yourself! Why would I strip Jaxon naked? Do you know how insane that sounds?” I said, trying to keep my voice down. My heart was pounding, and my palms were sweaty. She didn’t flinch, didn’t blink. She just tilted her head like I was the one losing my mind."Myla, calm down. Do you think I'm asking you to do this for fun? I know it sounds crazy, but if Jaxon wakes up and meets you, then you can kiss your escape goodbye. You know Jaxon won't

The airport was crowded, with people talking and moving in different direction. The noise of announcements, conversations, and footsteps filled the air, creating a lively and hectic atmosphere. But all I could focus on were the cops. They were everywhere. Standing by the entrances, pacing through security, glancing at the faces of every single traveler. My face. My picture was on every wall, every counter. The pressure was overwhelming, as if their eyes were constantly on me, watching my every move, even when I knew they weren’t really looking.I tried to breathe calmly, but my heart was racing. I couldn’t stop blaming Jaxon for it.It’s all his fault. If he hadn’t gone to the cops, begged them to search for me, or worse, offered that ridiculous six-million-dollar reward for anyone who found me, we wouldn’t be in this mess. Now, half the country thought I was some kind of criminal, while the other half was eager to turn me in for a fat payday.“This way,” Cynthia whispered, her voice

Eugene’s voice cut through the air like a blade. “Hey! You there! Hold on a second!”I froze mid-step, my heart leaping to my throat. Every muscle in my body tensed as Cynthia’s nails dug into my arm.“Don’t turn around,” she hissed, her voice sharp but barely audible. “Don’t you dare look back, Myla. Just keep walking.”But it was too late. I could feel his presence, his eyes boring into me like a predator eyeing his prey.Eugene’s piercing gaze locked onto mine, a cunning smile spreading across his lips. He moved with such confidence that it irritated my very being. The crowd around me blurred as my focus narrowed to the man who could destroy everything we've worked so hard for.“Ladies,” Eugene’s smooth, mocking voice cut through the tension like a knife. “Why the rush? Got somewhere important to be?”Cynthia spun around slowly, her grip on me firm, she wore a fake smile that would’ve fooled anyone—except Eugene. “Do I know you?” she asked, her tone light and casual, as though we w

Think again.”I froze, my heart pounding wildly as I watched the scene unfold, unable to move. Cynthia, however, wasn’t the one to back down easily. Her free hand darted toward her small metallic clutch bag—the same bag I had seen her gripping tightly since we arrived at the airport. With a swift motion, she swung it upward, smashing it in Eugene's face.He stumbled back, clutching his nose as fresh blood dripped down his face. His grip on Cynthia’s arm loosened for just a moment, and she used the opportunity to wrench herself free.“Go, Myla!” Cynthia shouted, her voice filled with urgency.“I’m not leaving you!” I yelled back, my feet rooted to the spot despite every instinct screaming at me t

After nine long hours in the air, the plane finally touched down in Switzerland. As the wheels hit the tarmac, a jolt of excitement ran through me. Switzerland had always been a dream, my distant escape. The airport was alive with a mix of languages and sounds I didn’t recognize. Announcements echoed over the speakers, and I struggled to keep up with Cynthia, who navigated the crowds with ease. I glanced around, taking in the beautiful architecture and the lively atmosphere. Everything was so vibrant, so alive. Cynthia glanced over her shoulder at me. "You good?" she asked, her tone sharp.I nodded quickly. "Yeah.
