How can she be so naive? She's a doctor, but the way she behaves and her decisions make her look childish and superficial, therefore, she's not believable as a desperate mother trying to save her kids. So it's hard cheering for her.

Author, the problem with your female lead is that she doesn't look devastated by her children's kidnapp, and that's weird. She's like 'ok, apparently, they aren't being mistreated', but when a loved one is missing, that's not how you react.
