Mia’s pov

A slap landing across my cheek was when I felt right from the back of my mind before a gasp flew out from my mouth as my eyes flew open. As I blinked a bunch of times to get the dark spots out of my eyes, it didn’t take more than a few seconds for everything that had happened to hit me right in the face.

When it did, another gasp tore past my throat as I blinked at Aisha, the person I had genuinely thought was a friend of mine. Her brother was sitting in the far end of the room, and two other people were standing beside him, they were all staring down at something. When I glanced back at Aisha, she had a brow arched at me.
