Charlotte looks at me with this adorable little pout and her eyebrows are knit together in confusion. The memory of seeing her for the first time pops in my head.

I was only 11 almost 12 whenever we went to the ruins of the Southern River Pack looking for survivors.

The Southern River Pack’s demise was a reminder to us all that no pack is safe. They were strong and were lead by one of the best Alpha’s that my father said he has ever met. My dad would never admit it but I saw a tear fall down his face when we found Alpha Hale’s body.

Every one of us went looking for survivors. We found a young boy that I know now is Charlotte’s friend Sebastian. He was hidden in a room and when he wouldn’t answer any questions that Beta Luke asked him, he was taken to the cars to be brought back home.

The other warriors stopped looking in that room after they found Sebastian, but I knew someone else was still there. I searched and searched until I found a girl hidden beneath the floorboards.
