CHAPTER 18

Lever's point of view

When I opened my room I stopped walking. I went back inside the room, I went to my closet to pick up the blue cap and put it on my head. I also got a surgical mask so no one would recognize me.

I stared at the old mirror in my bedroom and looked to see if anyone could recognize me. I made sure I wasn’t recognizable in my outfit today before I started walking out the bedroom again.

When I got out of my unit I took the elevator down the building. I adjusted my cap as the elevator stopped on the sixth floor and took the pen out of my pocket.

I need to be alert because they just show up everywhere. I became alert when a man entered the elevator. I just look straight at the red number at the top of the elevator that says where we are on the floor.
