NOVA’s POV
I was momentarily filled with excitement. Maybe I had misread Paul’s expression and he was just looking at me from curiosity. After all I am his Alpha’s Mate which would presumably make me his future Luna.I broke into a wide grin before asking, “ Oh! Sorry I shouldn’t have jumped on you like that. I’m Nova. Harvey’s POV After running out on Paul last night I was full of internal chaos. My thoughts were completely in opposition with one another.On one hand I was thrilled at finally finding my mate. PAUL’S POVThere was only five minutes left when I saw Harvey’s wolf Echo coming from the woods. He gave me a quick nod before going behind a nearby pine tree to shift. Once Harvey had shifted back to human form he came out from behind the tree. No wonder he wanted me to bring wipes to clean himself up. My Alpha looked like shit. His body was covered in dirt and blood. I even noticed a small cut on his cheek.“What did you do to end up like that?”Harvey shook his head while trying to brush deer guts out of his hair with water and a comb.”I wasn’t thinking too logically last night. NOVA’s POVMe and Clayton arrived to the meeting a few minutes early. We needed time to find our seats. We began going through the aisles in the circular amphitheater. Harvey’s POVAs soon as I saw those assholes hands on Nova Echo immediately took over. Neither of us was happy about anyone touching Nova, especially with harmful intent. HARVEY’S POVOnce we got to the hospital wing I talked to the front desk to specifically request a female doctor. It may seem a bit arbitrary but werewolves, especially Alpha’s are extremely territorial about their Mates. It would make me more comfortable and less likely to kill anyone if I felt the doctor touched her unnecessarily. A few minutes later Dr. Carol Martinson took Nova to a private room and left me and Alpha Clayton in the waiting room so she could examine her. We were the only ones currently in the waiting area. As worried as I was about Nova now was the perfect time to get some answers.I looked at Clayton before asking, “ Do you mind if I ask you some questions about Nova? NOVA’S POVI could feel the wind in my fur and see the warm rays on sunlight reflecting off the leaves. Beside me was my mother’s wolf running with me. HARVEY’S POVMe and Echo were for once in complete agreement as I rushed towards Nova’s scream. I imagined a million scenarios of what could be happening and what would happen to the person or people responsible. I bulldozed through the door right before Alpha Clayton. I saw Nova on the bed. She looked as white as a sheet, almost like she saw a ghost. Her eyes were moving the same way a hunted animals did when they realized they were about to die. My hackles continued to rise. NOVA’S POV Harvey left shortly after making sure I was alright. I wasn’t sure how I felt about this. On one hand he did rush in to protect me, even if no protection was actually necessary. This should mean he accepts me as his Mate. However, he also left very quickly when he realized I was safe. It was almost like he didn’t want to be around me.
