The air was still, that Tivona was afraid to even breathe for fear of disturbing the balance that the other had ceremoniously started here in the forest. Her eyes widened in both admiration and horror as she watched the other summoned up walls of water from the ground.
As if she clearly controlled the element-which she did.
But water is an unstable element. One minute it’s docile and quiet the next it would be pouring wrath and graceful vengeance on those who dare defy the laws of nature.
She watched with a baited breath as she waited for what the other would do once the men came into their presence-threatening the tranquillity of the life of the forest and the people who’re in it.
It was not rare for hunters to pass by this part of the forest without the need of ever thinking of the consequences-which weren’t that much, considering that her village allows travellers and the likes to come and go as they please.
But lately, strange people with strange curiosity and demands are often seen in this part of the forest, seeking for a treasure that is worth more than a thousand jewels.
An elemental creature.
She then looked over at Aedre who was still standing in the middle of the walls of water, giving off an earthly blue glow. Her blue cloak billowing behind her.
Her strange violet hair and green-orange eyes full of intent on whoever who would dare to cross paths with a water guardian.
“She could pass off as an elemental creature.” she muttered under her breath and looked around her, night slowly settling in. “I wouldn’t put it past the men if they thought she was.”
Considering the amount of power and aura that the other possesses at this point.
A twig snapped. And birds flew into the sky in a flurry of feathers as their peace was disturbed by such interruption into their resting place. Tivona directed her gaze away from her companion and towards the birds.
“Wonder who could that be?” she mused and then her eyes widened as her ears picked up footsteps coming from somewhere. Towards them.
And she turned to scanned the area for any suspicious or dangerous persons lurking in the area. She have no desired to fight anyone considering her size which is far more suited to climbing up trees.
Furthermore, she doesn’t have any training whatsoever in combat or weaponry for their village never had any problems without hostile communities from the north.
She cursed under breath and prepared herself to fight, whatever happens and if worst comes to worst.
“There’s no one bound to come here.” a voice spoke from somewhere in the forest and she quickly whipped her head side to side, to see where the voice had come from.
And a deep but sad chuckle rang through the forest. “They’ve quickly gone.”
She turned her head to where her friend was standing and saw a tall, young girl, with tan complexion wearing a black sando, pants and buckled boots with a jacket tied around her waist and a bowstring strapped over her shoulder.
“Why the heck are they so tall?” she muttered annoyingly as she watched the figure approached her friend.
The stranger have light brown eyes and define features which at her first glance she would’ve thought the stranger as someone who had aristocratic bearing.
She looked at the figure standing in front
of her intently and smirked. “You know as a guardian I wouldn’t have expected you to flaunt your powers like this.”The violet haired youth looked at her angrily. “I’m merely doing what I think is best.”
She cocked her head to the side. And scoffed. “Best? I don’t think so. Maybe you haven’t had the idea of what kind of poachers you were about to encounter awhile ago if I haven’t intervened.”
Aedre glared at the person standing in front of her and let out a sigh as she disintegrated the spell. The glow around her disappeared and the walls of water sank down into the earth.
“Who are you?” she asked, more like demanded as she looked at the girl in front of her. Being careful not to thread on the other’s toes as she could sense something of the girl.
It’s like something old and very powerful.
She looked at the violet eyed youth in front of her. And didn’t say anything as she had let the question hang in the air.
The leaves rustled in the air. And the night settled in.
“What do you mean by intervened?” a young green haired girl asked her as she sat down beside the violet haired youth in front of the fire. Her green eyes intent on her.
Trying to find any sort of lie to what she had said awhile ago.
She let out a sigh. “I willed the earth to swallow the men whole awhile ago.”
“What?” the green eyed girl shrieked in terror. “You didn’t...”
“I have to.” she told the her, her voice bearing no regret for the actions she had done awhile ago. “Although it’s not what I have planned in mind.” Her eyes then strayed to the older who was seated beside the younger, staring at the flames eating away the wood.
Then went back to the younger and strained a small smile. “Anyways, may I have the pleasure of knowing your names?”
The green eyed girl beamed and nodded. “Tivona,” she said as she pointed to herself then pointed to the girl beside her. “And this is Aedre.”
Aedre. The name sounded familiar to her.
She then looked at the violet haired girl closely- as closely as she could with the bonfire between them. The other’s green-orange eyes were enhanced by the orange of the flames burning
in front of her.And as the other looked up to meet her gaze, she was hit of both realization and confusion. As the memory finally came into her mind.
And a question escaped her as she looked at the other.
“What have you been doing all this time?” she asked as the other looked up at her and met her gaze, her eyes betraying the emotions that she really felt inside. “Princess.”
Akramlet out a sigh and turned towards thesleeping figurebeside him.Parisa.Then turnedhis gazeagain towards the crackling fire, hishandsplaying with the hilt of his sword that was strapped to his waist awhile ago.
Aedrelet out a sigh as she stood upthen walked away from the fire, her arms crossed over herchest. Her back turned towards them.Tivonalooked between the two of them, unsure on who she would ask about what happened awhile ago. And the mere fact that the two seemed to have a history that likely happened years ago...Well, it’s safe to say that it’s better to let things run as they are.
“Aren’t we going to go after her?”Tivonaasked as she followed after the older.Who was not saying a thing after their separation awhile ago.“Aedre.” she called the older as she stopped walking thenhunched over to catch her breath. “Can you please stop and look at me for a minute?”The o
“It has been years.” The Huntress spoke in a hushed tone asshe steppedin frontof a large dome made of marble and stone, thinvines spread across the smooth surface. “How fast time flies.”she said with a smile as she approached the wooden doors at thecenterof the dome andplaced her palm on it. “I still remember the day that everything
Torches lined the walls along the hallway leading to the main chambers, their lights casting a long shadow across the walls,as if an ominous being itself was moving against the very structure itself.Devouring every written inscription dating back to the beginning of the first civilization that societyhadbegotten to the world. As if their very presence indicates a lot more than mere writing on stones could.
Sounds of plates and wooden utensils rattled against each other, along with curses and slurred words ringing throughout the roomasdrunken men bragged on about their exploits to other lands, while prostitutes and servers alike hang on to every word like one does with a gossip. The bartender-a scraggy old man of mid 80’s shook his head at thechaos in his tavern and continued on cleaning the drinking keg in his hand, muttering at the sheer absurdity that some of the tales he was hearing.
Parisa walked quietly through the forest, her mind flashing back to the village from earlier. It made no sense that a village would just disappear without affecting the other areas although it was the same with what happened to the Nordic settlement in Vinland thousands of years ago.But why? And how? Why would a group of people suddenly leave? It's not like they have run scarce the source of food that they lived off and decided to go someplace. And the fact that it wasn't just the physical bodies that were missing but the souls as well. It doesn't make any sense at all."Who could've done this..." she mused, as she walked through the forest, her feet barely making any noise.Akram followed suit, cutting down any branches or bushes to make a clear path for her, that for some reason is entirely in her own world, not noticing anything at all."Maybe someone with a grudge?" he supplied with a small grunt as he lifted the
"Here, take this." Akram held out a brown faded cloak towards Parisa before placing his bag over his shoulder. "What is this for?" she asked as she looked at the cloak with curiousity, lifting the fabric gently as if it were made of glass. "It's for you," he told her. "Use that to cover yourself as not to attract unwarranted attention." he said, gesturing to the other's otherworldly looks. "The place where we are going is heavily supertitious when it comes to seeing something different." he explained. She raised an eyebrow at that, and with a teasing smile responded. "Am I that different?" He looked at her for a minute before shaking his head with a small chuckle. "Your looks...are not common," he told her. "Very few people have the same looks as you are, and when I say few, say about 0.01 percent of the entire world." She nodded, slinging the cloak over her shoulder. "And you say that us different are considered evil, is it not
