Rose doesn't have any words to say after seeing the picture of her next target. This man is supposed to be her last mission?

“What's this? Why is it this man?“ She asked herself thinking inwardly.

“How could this happen? How on earth did I end up getting involved with him this way? What's going on?“ She continued to think.

She doesn't know what else to do. She looked at Don Bernardo with contempt. There's something wrong with this mission. She has this feeling that she is about to get involved in a deadly situation.

“It's not like I have exactly been safe but how can you tell me to take a mission with someone you consider dangerous. Will I even make it out alive at all?“ Rose asked Don Bernardo who is now dipping whiskey majestically like he is not pushing Rose to her death.

He smirked which made her more angry. She clenched her fists ready to beat him up whatever it took before he finally said something.

“What makes you think you won't make it out alive? I never told you that you'd die there or be alone.“ Don Bernardo answered, she furrowed her brows suspiciously.

“Are you saying you are going to plant someone to even spy on me? Are you fucking with me right now you old geezer!“ She fired at him, her vein popping out of anger, her nose flared and her eyes are red.

Harry could not take it, he wanted to go after Rose. However, Kay pulled him back again.

“Let go you punk!“ Harry snapped at Kay in pain. He tried to get his wrist out of Kay's grip but it only made it worse. Kay would not let go, it's like he is possessed.

“What do you think you are doing? Boss asked you to stay put and not meddle in this.“ Kay continued to pull Harry back.

“Fine. I won't say anything so let go.“ Harry promised, before Kay let him go. He muttered some things Kay couldn't hear but he was definitely cursing Kay.

Don Bernardo stared at Rose calmly, like he knows she is going to give in no matter what she says now.

“Aren't you going to need help? This is not the first time I am having someone assist you especially when you are in sad situatons.“ Don Bernardo calmly insisted.

Rose scoffed, “Sad situations my foot! You're just doing this because you want to keep an eye on me. I haven't even agreed to do this mission.“

“You'll do it anyways. Why wait for your agreement?“

Rose is slowly losing it. She doesn't know what else to do. She imagined so many times in her head that she's breaking the flower pot on Don Bernardo's head and stabbing him with the remains.

It felt good in her head. She sat down again, trying to hold in all her rage. Holding rage in is the hardest thing for her to control.

“Fine. I'll do it.“

Don Bernardo gave a cheeky smirk. He knows she has no choice but to accept the mission. Rose is not even happy about this. Is he trying to get rid of her now that her contract with him is ending? Is this what this is about?

"Can't you just give me another mission instead of this?" Rose asked changing her mind again.

Don Bernardo sighed in frustration, "I knew you agreed to easily. You wouldn't be yourself if you don't bargain a mission right?"

Rose knows there's no way Don Bernardo is backing down from this. She has rejected some missions in the past and he had no choice but to change it for her. But none of those were crucial and important missions like this one.

"We've spent almost an hour on this. You're not changing your mind, are you?" She gave him a disgusted look.

"You won't die. Which is why I will..."

"Don't bring anyone with me. I don't want any idiot like Harry making my job complicated." She directly stared at Harry who's expression changed when she said that.

Kay held himself back from laughing. He looked away while Harry is lost for words. Don Bernardo also held himself from laughing, Rose always does this to Harry.

"You want to work alone? I thought you said the place is dangerous? Why do you want to go there alone?"

"It's none of your business. Just don't bring anyone with me or I'm going to rat them out." She threatened him.

He shrugged, "Whatever you want. You're the boss after all."

Rose returned the sarcastic smile, "If I was, you'd be dead long ago." Then she leaned back on the chair flipping through the files while everyone else watched her.

She didn't see what she's supposed to do exactly on the files. She looked at Don Bernardo for an explanation.

"You have to find out what his secrets are and what he does. Then you report to me." Don Bernardo told her.

She frowned, "Is that all I am supposed to do? I don't have to sleep with him? When am I supposed to leave or should I just marry him and be your spy forever?"

The sarcasm shouldn't be there but Rose is not afraid of Don Bernardo.

"Sleeping with him is a bonus, if he's good enough. That's not all, you have to find me his most hidden secret files. That's my target exactly. The key to everything he has."

Rose did not like the way he sounds so evil saying that. It's like there's more to this than she knows.

"Why are you saying it like that? Do you know this guy personally? He's not a politician, is he?"

"He is not but he is just as bad as politicians, even worse than they are." He told her.

Rose sighed looking at his pictures again. "This man sure has a temper but I don't think he's that bad. How am I supposed to find him now?"

"Did you say something?" Don Bernardo asked as she murmured to herself.

She shook her head, "Nothing... Boss. I'll try to start as soon as I can so I can get out of this shit hole."

She stood up, "If there's nothing else, I have to leave now. Kay, can we talk outside?"

"Sure thing. Boss, I'll be back." Kay announced to Don Bernardo and made to leave with Rose.

Harry scoffed in anger, "You can work with him and not me? You think I'm that stupid?"

Rose turned to him, "This is why I didn't want to work with you. You obviously don't know how to read the room. How did an idiot like you join this organisation anyways?"

"You..." He wanted to talk back, Don Bernardo stopped him by raising a hand.

Harry is fuming deep inside. He has always hated Rose from the moment she rejected him. She was never nice to him or anyone except Kay.

"You have three months dear. I hope you make the most out of it. You have no time to waste." Don Bernardo informed her but it sounded like a warning.

She didn't say anything but took the files and walked out of the room with Kay.

"Boss... She always does this to me everytime. You should at least let me give her a piece of my mind." Harry complained.

"Be patient Harry. It will happen in due time. This is the hardest mission no one has been able to pull, let's see if she's any different from the rest."

"Do you mean she might die as soon as she starts there?" Harry asked curiously.

"Who knows? She might survive enough to bring me what I want. She has the potential to survive. That's how much I want to trust her." Don Bernardo stated.

Rose and Kay stopped outside, Kay looked very worried about her. She gave him a comforting smile. The only friend who has been through everything with her all these years.

"Are you sure you want to do this? You can keep protesting and he'll stop if he sees you are relentless." Kay asked worriedly.

Rose gave him a warm smile, "You're way too serious Kay. This isn't something I have not done before yet you look like I'm going to die or something. Don't worry. I'll make sure to come back alive."

Rose assured him but he still did not feel at ease. Especially with the part about sleeping with that man.

"Are you going to do that too?"

She shrugged, "If the job requires me to do it, there's not much I can do to avoid it you know. Everyone wants me."

Kay scoffed, "You are boasting again. You don't have to use your body if you don't want to. You can casually get in like a maid and so."

"A maid? You know that job doesn't suit me well. I am a queen you know." She boasted more to make light of the situation even though she is sad deep down.

She checked her watch, "I have to go now. The sooner I finish this damned mission, the better for me. Who knows, luck might be on my side."

She hugged him before leaving. Kay didn't get to say anything else to her. She knows he is going to nag her so she had to leave immediately. On her way home, she couldn't stop thinking of what to do.

Nicholas King is the man's name? How is she supposed to find that guy and even if she eventually does, what's she going to say to him? He seemed like he was sending her far away from him yesterday. He is attractive but she finds him quite grumpy.

"They should just send me to my grave instead of-" while thinking about this, she looked ahead and saw she almost collided into a luxury car because she wasn't paying attention to the road.

She turned to avoid it and ended up bumping on the wall instead. She hit her head on the steering wheel but thankfully she didn't sustain serious injuries. She got down from the car coughing, she saw the luxury car has stopped.

"Wait, this is not my fault alone. I don't think the driver of that car was also paying attention to the road. What the hell?!" She thought, then decided to check who the owner of the car is.

Instead of going to the driver's seat, she went to the back area and knocked on the glass. She figured it must belong to a rich person who probably has a driver.

"Open the door you jerk! I almost died because of you!" She fired knocking at the glass.

The glass went down revealing the person at the back. Her pupils dilated in shock, she could hardly hide her reaction. She went numb on seeing who it is. Is this destiny or is the universe on her side?

"Is this my lucky day?"
